What Students Say

Likes

Good study environment. As msc botany student it is good study environment. University has Central science library but our department also have its own botany library for students. Infrastructures, labs, botany gardens are perfect for students.
Excellent professors. Teachers are very good. They always ready to help students. They regularly take classes and give required assignment and work. Practical are regularly done. Lab Staff members are very helpful.
Student diversity:- As DU is very famous institute, students from Indian states and even foreign countries join. It creates diversity among us. Different programs, events, competitions are done for students participation

Dislikes

There is no arrangement for students relaxation. No sports aur other extra curricular events. Therefore msc becomes boring
Small seized labs. Student are about 107 count. Therefore they are divided into two groups of about 50 students. Accordingly Two labs are provided. Still our lab is small and something we don't have enough instruments for students.
Expensive Living. Living in Delhi is very costly. And University provide very few hostels. Therefore to study student have to live far areas.

Course Curriculum Overview

Botany has emerging scope in future. We have great faculty of botany in India. Therefore studying under their guidance and with their scholars are very worthy. They teach us in real application based way. University curriculum is well suited for students. Giving students Chance to fully learn the subject

Class Size: 107Course Fees: INR 20000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Course:- Msc Botany ;Duration:- 2 years; Fee:- twenty thousand per year (Same for all category Students) for admission. Joining Botanical society DUBS fee 250 rupees. Admission verification documents:- 10th &12th Marksheet, UG college provisional certificate, CUET PG Scorecard, Fee receipt. Migration certificate Admission through CUET PG entrance exam (Cut off of general usually about 170) Scholarship:- NSP(PG Scolorship) and Dean students's Welfare Office - Financial Support Scheme.(Full annual fee refunded) Documents required:- Residential certificate, family income certificate, Caste certificate, Bank passbook, Bank linked with Aadhar card, Aadhar Card of all family members with bank details.

Campus Life

Overall University is good. Beautiful greeny. Good transportation.Good shops for students. DUBS society is good for students. But there is little extra curricular events. No sports and field trips makes msc boring

Admission

Delhi University was near of my residence area. It is very reputed University. Admission in University are based on CUET PG Score. Cutt off for is about 170 (for UG DU students. For outsiders 180).For category Students there is relaxation of Cuet numbers

Faculty

Faculty are less according to students of 107 counts. Although teacher teach nicely. Most loved part of botany DU is Systematics and bryophytes faculty teachers.(For 1st Semester) Unliked/hard subject is biochemistry and physiology. Student find little difficult to learn it from students. Teachers not effectively teach.(For 1st Semester) Exams and internal assessment tests are easy type. But finding PYQ for exam preparation is difficult.

Night Life

If you get hostel near Du department of botany then you are lucky. Hostel like Mansarowar is perfect for pg students. Here you get all gym, reading room, etc facilities. For fast food you can go near Mukherjee Nagar. It is student hub. You will each every things gor students. But if you not Hostel, then life is little hard in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically I choose this course because I am interested to study on environment. Again now a days the field in related to environment like disaster management, climate change etc. Facalty is available for the student and they are ready to help students any time. Ratio is correctly not known but I can say that it's good. Facalty is highly educated with PhD holder and other high qualified. Teaching method is basically online distance mode. They provides notes in pdf formate and through video classes. Offline books are provided through postal address. Study materials are easily available on the official website and different application of the official. Exams are conducted as both semester and yearly method. In my course it's semester system and it held timely. Exams are not so tough not too easy.
