What Students Say
Likes
- Very good student clubs like Point Blank which is one of the best student run coding club in India
- As there are many cultural clubs, the campus life is never boring and there is always something to take part in
- Hods are well versed in their subjects and encourage students to take part in competitions
Dislikes
- Very strict dress code. There is no uniform but collared shirts and t shirts are mandatory and without a collared shirt or tshirt you will face a lot of trouble
- College is strict about attendance and requires 85 attendance
- Exams are very frequent and labs are very strict about attendance
Course Curriculum Overview
Courses are very relevant to the current times. They provide you real world worth. One specific element about CSE is that it is pretty good and there are lots of jobss in this market. One thing i would change is that they should teach more coding and make use practice DSA questions
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come for internship in DSCE. There are several people who get placed and are currently doing internship. But the main problem is several of these internships are unpaid, so that is one thing that could be changed
Placement Experience
Placement of college is very good with the average salary of CSE department being 10.45 LPA the highest salary being 52 LPA offered by microsoft. Many companies visit campus like Cognizant, TCS, Microsoft, etc. There is more than 90 percent placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The detailed fee structure is 2,87,000 is to be paid before admission and 32,000 is to be paid at the time of admission There are several scholarships in DSCE Like NSP And a another scholarship presented by VTU. Both are not merit related. The fees will be same all 4 years
Campus Life
There are several fests. One is Furore. There are several hackathons, codathons, Ideathons etc each month. There are about 3 lakhs books online and offline in the library and library is constantly removing old books which are not relevant and adding new books. Sports are great. If you go on the ground at any time of the day, you will find some sports happening there. One of the best student coding clubs, Point Blank, is present. This is a highly prestigious club in DSCE. They are managed by seniors and even entrepreneurs. If you are in DSCE, Point Blank is the way to go.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are provided with 24 hours of electricity, Hot water at all times of the days, Drinking water ( hot and cold) 24 hours. There is free laundry and laundry is unlimited, we just have to provide detergent. Meal quality is very good, and menu is a mix of north indian and south Indian food. There is various variety and quantity. For registering in hostel, you need to pay 180000 up front through Demand Draft, Neft, Rtgs, Online banking and fill a form for hostel
Admission
I applied to DJ Sanghvi, a college in Mumbai and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology. I got accepted in both of them but i refused these colleges because their was a lot of travelling. To get into DSCE, you need to either pass the cutoff in COMEDK or KCET. There is also an option of Management Quota. These are the only ways to get into DSCE.
Faculty
There is a healthy faculty to student ratio in DSCE. There are approximately 50 students per teacher in first year. One of the faculty that i personally liked their style of teaching was Dr. Vidya C of Physics as she taught very well and also didn't make us over dependant. One faculty I liked the least was the faculty of Indian Constitution. Very strict and monotonous style of teaching
Night Life
It is present in Kumarswamy Layout. In the campus, every thing is present lile Gym, cafeteria, library, public area Gym and Public area closes at 9.30 pm and library at 5 pm. Hostel and campus timings are 6 am (entry) to 9.30 pm. There are several juice shops and biryani spots in walking distance from the campus and the area is not that expensive i comparison to main bengaluru spots
