Likes

the infrastructure is good and got great facilities
provide better placements in top companies
got hostel facilities with decent rooms with acceptable space

Dislikes

the teachers are OKAY but they still lack to cover the topic
the college didn't finished building yet but the pollution is the problem
the canteen food is poor but now they fixing it

Course Curriculum Overview

The first year mostly based on 12th recap and basics. I was really interested in cyber security. The subjects and curriculum are quite different from other universities here but it meets the standard. But the teaching should be improved

Placement Experience

Since we are the first batch...there are no placements yet but they offer a good placements. I'm looking forward for good placements at good cyber security related companies...they offer 80k to 1 lakh but may differ later

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees for BTech cs is 1.6 lakh,3.5k for the admission and 1.5k registration the development and lab fees deducted from the tuition fees. The fees is same irrespective of any reserved community. They also provide scholarship upto 35k of you got marks above 75% for sem exams

Campus Life

The campus is life is really disappointing because we don't even have freshers day here...and less holidays...even on public holidays...since they focus on North Indian calendar. There are many clubs and eSports related competitions and they offer cash prizes too

Admission

I completed my 12th board at Chinmaya vidyalaya. since i really liked their manner and culture I choosed Chinmaya vishwa vidyapeeth...i choosed Chinmaya vishwa vidyapeeth because I got my most favoured course even though I got average marks on board.

Faculty

The faculty is really efficient...there are many faculties for each sector. The office faculties are great and will quickly help you. The 4 year course of total 8 semester...there would be an 2 internal examination before sem exams and if you fail in both internals... you should write one more exam...else you can't write semester exam...most students fails to pass all subjects since some subjects are strictly evaluated

Night Life

there are no gym and cafeteria with menus but got a Library but it's not vast and don't have a great collections...the students should leave hostel at 8.30 and should get back at 6pm itself. if changed, we should take permission.there is nothing to hangout inside college and if we want to hangout, we can go out on weekends

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?

Actually the programme I took is B.A.B.Ed English which is actually offered in two universities in kerala one is calicut university and the other one is Chinmaya vishwa vidyapeeth university the calicut university required an entrance exam which had finished when I got to know about it and the other choice was Chinmaya vishwa vidyapeeth university which didn't require any entrance exam and also it is a deemed University which NAAC accreditation so I thought a deemed University would be a different experience...Read More

Before joining in Chinmaya Vishwa vidyapeeth university, I have applied for woxsen university , hyderabad. The woxsen university is more of pose and on going culture, and the fee was also very very high for the course I opted. The placements were also very low. I choose Chinmaya Vishwa vidyapeeth university because of their rich culture, holistic development, spiritual growth, and when it comes to the fee , the fee structure is also very decent.
