What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure which makes you feel that you are studying in a foreign university.
- The all digital classrooms and educational aids like online notice boards, assignments, attendance, etc. Apart of this there is no fixed chairs in classroom which makes classrooms more fun and engaging.
- The superb faculty from the all of the best universities around the globe. (Harvard, oxford, john Hopkins, Cambridge, etc.)
Dislikes
- The rigorous class routines which makes you feel so tired and full of fatigue.
- no industrial visits for biotechnology students
- nearly negligible placement opportunities for biotechnology students
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curricullum is too vast and is at par with any of the best university around the globe, it quite rigorous and tiring and you will really fell too much heat of it but at last you will be the best of you, is guaranteed.
Internships Opportunities
There is no any internship opportunity knocking directly on your door, but we have to put lots of effort to get one and most importantly decide one, but in this whole process you will be guided on every step by your professors. And the letter of recommendation from here is really very strong enough to get you at any place of your choice. You can always choose to do your internship at the university campus itself but it is not suggested to do so, you should go and explore.
Placement Experience
placements are offered here but it is very less in number and the package offered is also vey low. but this is quite normal for any biotechnology students in india as we are still in an initial stages of biological research activities. so some of the options we look for are: 1. Phd abroad 2. Phd in India 3. CSIR NET (jrf/srf) 4. Jobs in pharmaceutical industries. 5. Jobs in research laboratories.
Fees and Financial Aid
For my course it is 1,00,000/- annually along with some additional charges which goes like:- registration charges = 10,000/- Security deposit = 5,000/- Insurance = 7,000/- Apart of this, before every end semester examination there is an exam registrations where you will be charged 500/- for every subject you opted in that semester. here you get scholarships based on your graduation score, they have divided this scholarship range in 4 categories which goes like:- (score range) = (scholarship) 85% above = 100% 75%-85% = 75% 65%-75% = 50% Below 65% = 0% But they have very less seats in the scholarship category which is served on come first get first basis. (I didn't get)
Campus Life
lots of extra curricullar activities is available here in the university but for master's student you'll have to be prepared for not having time to explore any of these activities as you have a loads of studies from the first semester itself.
Hostel Facilities
hostel is one of the most important part of the university, it is really very clean, comfortable and cozy. in every room we have separate beds, cupboard for each, attached washrooms, shoe rack, study table and chair. mess is just located in the ground floor of the hostel, and serves a mess kind of food {you what i want to say} but its hygienic and you no limit of eating.
Admission
I applied for 3 different campuses of the SRM University i.e. Delhi, KTR & Andhra pradesh. I was selected at all these campuses but i choose this college due its world class infrastructure, faculties, highy advance laboratories, and the most importantly this is a research oriented institution where even a bachelor's first year students gets all the assistance to proceed with thier research project under guidance of thier professors. Eligibility: - 65% abobe score in graduation final year. - Minimum 18 yrs of age. Admission process: - online applicatio + interview with faculty
Faculty
the faculties here are one of the best around the globe, you just name the best universities in the world and and here you will get a professsor who is from that university. Professors here are very eaasily approachable as they all have separate cabins and where they dont stay most of the times but you can find them round the clock in thier laboratories, and we can even call them in midnight for any kind of assistance. (Not a single professor in my course whom one could dislike)
Night Life
Here we have a silent hours from 17:00 to 6:00, but all of the essential facilities like pharma and doctors are available 24/7 in the campus. we have a night canteen which is operational till 1:00 am. For gym we have 2 slots, Morning - 6am - 8am Evening - 6pm - 8pm More than 100 guards with lots of cctv survillance in the campus makes it safe and sound every time.
