Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its my dream to become a doctor and I choosed Thrissur medical College because of the academic improvement. The curriculum is too vast even though the academic mentors and professors are too good to teach in simple manner.

Internships Opportunities

3

We get 10 month internship in hospital with good amount of salary. But the amount is too little when we talk about the job. The intership will help to improve our skills and knowledge in medical field.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise we need to pay 26630 , in which tuition fees is 23150 and other 1740 and 1740 for MF and VF each. Also we need to pay PTA fund 15000 and Union fund 8000. I spend around 3000 above rupees for mess and wificharges in hostel. Also we need to give money for books and records and also for lab fees. It's about around 1000 for each subuject and around 6 record we need to by. I applied for egrantz scholarship but yet didn't pass any money. So we have difficult in studying because of money problem.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is good. I enjoy evening with the friends walking through the college. We have no air polution in campus it's a calm and quiet atmosphere. So I love the campus and hostel. Only the problem is hostel bathroom.

Hostel Facilities

1

We give miscellaneous fund of about 550 in hostel. Even though the hostel bathroom is too bad. We get water only at morning. Remaining times no water at tap so difficult to do things. And the rooms are too bad .

Admission

Thrissur medical College is good in academic and also has good infrastructure for study. Here the sports has improved too much. We have good alumnis and indoor stadiums. So I choose this college for sports and academic

Faculty

3

Each department has a hod , associate professor and assistant professor. In which under there are PG posting and UG students. Faculty students ratio is adequate and each student's get help from their mentors. Faculty students relationship are good and they help very well when the exams time is arrived. I like pathology faculties. Maybe due to intrest in pathology.

Night Life

4

The night life around the college is safe . There is street light every where which give proper visual in everywhere so we feel safe. There is some dog problems in some area around hostel so we need to aware only about that

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
