Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure of the college is well managed. We have more emphasis on theory and practical, divided in three level, pre clinical, para clinical and clinical, it is the first step in medical career. It's a 4½ year course with this we also has 1 year of compulsory training. Labs sessions are very helpful in understanding the subject and concepts well. Examinations are held as per scheduled and they are both practicals and written papers.

Placement Experience

4

College has good placement record. Students get selected for government hospital. Students also opt for higher education since for more scope higher degree and specialization is needed. We have a compulsory 1 year internship which helps us to bring in practice what we learnt in these years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Course fee for MBBS degree is feasible and is less compared with private colleges. The fee for first year MBBS course for all India quota is 35000 rupees. Transportation, hostel and other facilities are also available and is charged as used. The fee is set by government. We have to pay part amount during time of admission. For subsequent years the fee is different.

Campus Life

4

Our college hosts many extra curricular activities for students to show and develop their skills. We have cultural events, sports championship, workshops, seminars, and symposium are also organised. We have good practical labs which are equipped with all modern equipments.

Hostel Facilities

4

Our college has hostel facilities available in our college, for both boys and girls. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel charge per month is 3500. We have good infrastructure and have all amenities in it, with good hygienic food.

Admission

Admission is given based on entrance examination. I am doing my MBBS course from this college. I got admission in this college through NEET entrance examination. After clearing NEET, I applied with my score in counseling, and got admission in this college by my score. We must have studied Physics, Chemistry and biology in 12th and must have completed 17 years of age.

Faculty

4.5

Our faculty are well educated, they have experience of teaching from years. They all have good educational background. We have both teaching and non teaching staff which is helpful for us. They are very supportive to us, our faculty help us in guiding for future steps. They guide us to concentrate on the subjects and solve our problems. They are good at both theoretical and practical teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
