Course Curriculum Overview

3

the insty follows IMAs Competency Based Medical Education curriculum, ao as to ensure that each student is capable and has achieved the competencies required for an Indian medical graduate. the exam pattern us abit difficult they postponed the subjects to the later year in the end of the academic year.

Internships Opportunities

3

we are provided with 1 year of internship (house surgeon) which has to be completed within the college. during this period we get to assist in surgeries, posting at the primary health centre etc. it helps us more to understand. the working of government hospitals

Placement Experience

1

There is no campus placements opportunity Though its provides Junior resident position to any MBBS graduate its mot solely to the college. those under ESIC Quota should work compulsory bond for 1 year, which can be anywhere in India, but have a good salary of 120000 per month. Failure should provide 10lakh if the person wishes to break the bond

Fees and Financial Aid

the annual fees varies depending on whether you get admission under all india quota / CEE Kerala and ESIC Quota All India and CEE Kerala is 24500, ESIC Quota is around 26000 Additionally there is hostel establishment fees and water and electricity fee coming to 600 per month. there is also scholarship for economically backward students coming to around 20000 per year.

Campus Life

3.5

there are annual and medical conferences held though not compulsory for an undergraduate level. we can present our research topics at different medical conferences. i was personally able to present my undergraduate reasearch at trivandrum The social life is not compromised, there are many tourists spots located nearby including the famous Varkala cliff beach

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel was built by the ESIC cooperation which provided adequate space in the! rooms. each student is given a bed and almirah a study table chair and a bedside nightstand. Each room accomodate 3 students. there is monthly establishment fees+ water and electricity 600 per month Hostel is within the collage campus. but hospital and campus separation is still under progress

Admission

personally i chose this because of its location. ita in my state ao language wouldn't be a problem. it definitely wasn't my first Choice, which was government medical College, Calicut then trivandrum and Kottayam. you have to have achieved a good enough rank in NEET UG examination to get into any of the government collages my rank was all India 16K and kerala 6K

Faculty

4

there are adequate faculties inthe non clinical departments but lack faculties in the clinical departments. this is being resolved as the PG seats are being approved in the clinical side. the PSM nad forensic medicine and toxicology departments have a good student teacher communication. among clinical subjects ENT, OPHTHALMOLOGY, general medicine, OBG also have a good approach.

Interview Experience

3.5

the only test needed was NEET UG as i mentioned earlier one has to achieve high rank to get into the government colleges. there was. no other interview or trsts required. admission occurs through the NEET UG counseling process.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
