Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course I have chosen is electrical and electronics engineering. The curriculum covers topic like microprocessor , digital electronics, analog electronics, DC machines, circuits, control system etc which are very relevant to the future. The curriculum prepare you somewhat like OK in real world applications. In my opinion there should be more practical sessions. The frequency and timings of exam are OK . Difficulty varies in each semester.

Placement Experience

3

From S6 onwards students will be able to sit in placements drive. In my college the placement is just OK. Many companies visited and above 100 offers were made. Highest package was of 14 Lakh per annum, average package is about 4-5 lakh per annum. Students placed are above 50% in CS and IT department. I plan for both work and higher studies

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees - 10000 Tuition fees -9650 Caution fees- 3000 Bus fees - 6000 For SC/ST - No tuition fees Scholarship available - MCM (Merit cum means scholarship) , E-grantz, Pragati scholarship etc

Campus Life

4

Our annual techno cultural fest is called INVENTO. They are typically happened in the month of September -october. There is a good library in our college with around 1000+ books The classroom are equipped with wifi and projector and other basic facilities . Campus offers good sports culture. Also extracurricular activities like dance club, IEEE, TinkerHub, Mulearn etc are available

Hostel Facilities

4

In my room, there is a table two chair 3 single bed. My room is a 3 person shared room. It contains one attached bathroom, Shelf ,hanger etc. the room is situated just 100 meter from the college. My hostel only provide room, rent is about 1700 per month. The hostel which provides food have better quality meals. The fees is about 5000 per month. Government hostel is also available where the fees is about 2500 per month.

Admission

I opted for many other colleges like GEC Thrissur, MACE Kothamangalam, GCE Kannur etc. but I got admission in GEC Palakkad. The reason was my 12th score was not that good enough. KEAM entrance exam take both the entrance exam mark and 12th mark as 50:50. The exam accepted by my college is KEAM. Cut-off varies. You could always check previous year cut off. The admission experience was good

Faculty

4

Faculty to students ratio is 1:13. Faculty is very friendly and approachable. They will help you in both academic and non academic activities. I don't like to disclose names but the overall faculty experience is good. There are 2 internal exam for each semester and they are a moderate level difficult. A little students fail the exam.

Night Life

4

The college have its own gym, library and public areas. The gym is OK and the library is open upto 5 PM. The night life is good. The campus is open upto 10 PM. And the hostel timing is same as that. Some hostel timing for girls is around 9:00 PM. The campus itself have somany hangout places.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
