A brief Overview of IIIT Ranchi

The course curriculum is still not relevant to the real world applications. But, is better than other colleges. The curriculum should be less theoratical and more practical should include workshops and skill development events The mid sem exams happen around after 2 months after the start of the semester and end sem exams at the end of the semester The exams are not very hard but it depends on the subject.

Yes campus placement is offered Placements was nice in 2023 but, it 2024 due to recession it went downhill Talking about 2023 stats Around 130 offers Highest 83 lpa Average package was around 16-17 lpa Placement percentage - 85-90% In 2024 Total 50 offers Highest package 28 lpa Avg 9.2 lpa This year things are slightly getting better companies have visited and given offers to students some direct offers and some internships Internships are in the fourth year. My plan is to get a high paying job after 1-2 years of experience MBA from a reputed college if necesaary.

At the time of admission you have to pay 1.74 lakh Out of which 1.61 lakh is the fees which had to paid every semester. Tution fees -110000 Institue fees - 15000 Hostel fees- 18000 Mess fees - 18000 And here is the breakdown of the additional fees paid only at the time of admission Institute caution money - 10000( Refundable) Alumni membership fee - 2000 Admission processing fee - 1000 So the total fees to be paid in 1st sem - 1.74lapk Total fees in the rest 7 sem - 1.61 lakh So the whole btech will be done in 12.91 lakh including the refund There is same fees for every category/ no fee waiver for any category College does not provide any scholorship of its own, but students can avail various central or state govt scholorships.

Here in the temporary campus the hostels are in national games housing complex. It is quite nice and better than college hostels. Library is not so diversified Only have coursebooks and few literature. Due to no permanent campus sports facilities are struggling. Student run technical clubs are present called House of geeks it has various sections UI/UX , game dev ,Soft dev, App dev , Cybersecurity Competetive programming , AI and ML ,Robotics & IOT, VLSI and ECE related. We also have Entrepreneurship cell , student council , google developer groups Sports and Esport clubs also Majorly for BGMI and Valorant. And some cultural clubs also like saaz( music), Rangbaaz ( drama).though it operates on small scale. Technical events , hackathons, gaming events are held frequently. But cultural events are non existent. Last year cultural fest was organised dont know if this year will also be or not Hope so it will happen. College does not provide anything everything is student run

Hostels are pretty nice Bed, table, chair is provided Electricity and internet is also provided. Mess is decent Variety is present Rice and dal are always present Biryani on sundays Once a month there is a mess party which have more options But, nothing can beat ghee wali ghar ki roti. Food seems decent at first but boredom from mess food is the real deal

The other colleges i was getting that i rejected was- IIIT bhagalpur & kalyani - poor location,lack of it industry and good colleges in the region IIIT manipur - same reason even worse location , recent conflicts in the area , too far away from my home Thapar - fees was too high and i was getting ECE which dont have enough ROI .and increasing batch size Other state govt colleges - less placement, not enough exposure. I chose this college because IIIT tag Ranchi city( capital) Placement was good in 2023 There is only one way for admission. Students have to give jee mains and secure good rank and participate in the jossa and csab councelling.

Faculty to student ratio is about 20 :1 Best faculty is Dr. RD Tiwari Sir (mathematics) The rest are also decent The faculties in my section are all good, but have heard that things are not so well in other sections There is a mid term examination of 30 marks End sem examination of 50 marks Teachers assesment of 20 marks There is no relative grading in this college I am in first semester so dont yet know about the results
