Course Curriculum Overview
I would say the MCA course curriculum at LPU is quite useful and covers most of what’s needed. I chose this program because it covers both basic computer science topics and hands-on skills. Subjects like programming, databases, and data structures are included, which are important for real-world jobs. This mix of theory and practical work makes me feel ready for either a job or further studies. Exams happen twice a semester along with that there are CA`s(Continous Assesments) also , with midterms and finals. If you follow along with classes, they’re manageable, though some advanced subjects can be tough. I think the teaching could be even better if they used more practical examples and kept classes more engaging.
Internships Opportunities
At LPU, there are several internship opportunities for students through campus connections with various companies. Many students have interned with well-known companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, where roles often include software development, data analysis, and IT support. These internships frequently come with a stipend, though the amount can vary depending on the company and role. Unfortunately, I haven’t taken up an internship yet, but LPU’s placement cell provides good guidance and opportunities for students interested in gaining work experience before graduation.
Placement Experience
At LPU, students can take advantage of placement services with a one-time payment of ?10,000. This includes additional training sessions beyond regular academics, specifically aimed at building the skills needed for placements. Students become eligible for placements from the middle of the 2nd semester, which gives them plenty of time to prepare and work on their professional skills. LPU has a strong placement record with many well-known companies visiting campus, such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Capgemini. The highest packages offered can reach impressive numbers, especially in top tech roles, while the average package for most students is quite competitive compared to other private universities. The exact figures for the highest and average packages can vary each year, but they typically provide a decent return on investment for students. A large percentage of students secure jobs through campus placements, thanks to the university's extensive company network and support services. My own plan after graduation is to land a good job in the tech field, and I feel that the skills and support from LPU will help me reach that goal.
Fees and Financial Aid
You have to pay 10000 before paying the entire fee to reserve your seat. Year wise fee - 160000 per year now it is 200000 per year. Before Per Semester fee - 80000 , Now per semester fee - 100000 Examination fee is 4500 per semester. Registration fee - 1000 for LPUNEST Exam Through you can get Scholarship on the basis of your score and you can also avail scholraship through your graduation marks.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life at LPU has been really fulfilling, especially in terms of social life, clubs, and the amazing infrastructure. The university has a lively campus with a mix of cultural, technical, and social events. There are annual festivals like YouthVibe, held in February, which is a big cultural event with music, dance, and art activities. For tech enthusiasts, One World and One India are organized every year, bringing students together to celebrate diversity and innovation. The library is well-stocked, with a good range of books, journals, and digital resources, making it easy to access study materials. There are many student-run clubs, such as coding, dance, music, and debate clubs, which help students develop skills outside of academics
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility at LPU is well-maintained and equipped with the essentials for a comfortable stay. Rooms are available in various sharing options, and the standard facilities include a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard for each student. The rooms are clean and have basic amenities, with options to choose AC or non-AC rooms depending on preference and budget. For food, I opted not to take the mess facility, which is separate from the hostel fee. However, based on feedback from friends, the mess offers a decent variety with a rotating menu, though the quality and taste can vary. For students not choosing the mess, there are many food options on campus and nearby, making it easy to manage meals. The hostel registration process is straightforward, though early registration is recommended since spots can fill up quickly. The annual hostel fee is around ?80,000, which is reasonable given the facilities and the environment provided.
Admission
I chose LPU because it offered the best campus life and facilities among the options I considered. It's also the best private university close to where I live, which made it convenient for me. Compared to other universities I looked into, LPU stands out with a huge, vibrant campus, modern infrastructure, and great amenities for students. The social and academic atmosphere felt like a good fit, which played a big role in my decision. For the admission process, LPU has a straightforward application system. Eligibility requirements depend on the course, but for MCA, you generally need a bachelor’s degree with a minimum score, and they accept scores from national-level exams like LPUNEST, which is also one of the most popular exams among applicants. They set specific cutoffs, so meeting those can make the process smoother. My overall experience was good—the admissions team was helpful, and the process was efficient.
Faculty
During my time pursuing an MCA at Lovely Professional University (LPU), I found the faculty to be a mix of strengths. Overall, they are qualified and knowledgeable, with a good balance of academic expertise and industry exposure. Most faculty members are approachable and eager to help. The course structure is designed to cover essential subjects relevant to today’s tech landscape, and I found it to be well-rounded and up-to-date. The curriculum includes core subjects in computer science, programming, and database management, along with electives and workshops that address the latest industry trends. Overall, my experience at LPU was positive, with a curriculum that felt relevant and faculty who, in large part, contributed positively to my learning experience.
