Remarks
There are a huge number of possible placements and job opportunities for students who are willing to do their part and study for their future with a good CGPA. But for the below average achievers i dont think this is the best place to go.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is tougher than what we expect in a normal government College. Amrita takes pride in its IIT level curriculum. The exams are semester based and are usually questions from the syllabus. There are 2 periodical exams and one main end sem exam over a period of 6 months which makes up a semester.
Placement Experience
As far as i have heard there is a lot of placement opportunities of the student is a high achieving student. The placements are all from good and renouned companies. I did talk to some seniors who did tell me that they were going to attend the company interview inorder to get the job. In the end as long as you do well in your academics you should be in the clear.
College Events
There are a cluster of events which Amrita offers for students in an academic year. Some of them include Vidyut, amritakalolsavam, cultural fest, diwali, Onam, Vishu and a lot more which i forgot to include.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For my course there is a sem tuition fee of 50500?/- which we have to give every 6 months. This is for my academic year the batch of 2018. If you opt for hostel facility it is an additional 69000?/- for a year (although i don't recommend it).
Fees and Financial Aid
I did get in on a merit base exam and got a 10000/- off on my tuition fee. For management seats it is an additional 10000/- from the existing 50500/-. There are some other scholarship programs for the students and i recommend you to go check out their site before enrolling.
Campus Life
There are excellent labs. The infrastructure is top notch in the campus i did only have the chance to see the chemistry lab (For BSc students). the physics lab (Bsc) and the huge computer lab (combined) which has about 50-100 computers in a huge air conditioned room.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are really helpful if you are a socialising student. If you are afraid of ragging there is no need to worry it is non exisitant in this university. The alumni network is not so great since i did not have the chance to meet any alumni students in this college. I did meet 1 alumni only on personal contacts.
Faculty
The faculties are all post graduate and qualified for the job. Most of them are professors and Phd rank holders. While some of them are kind and humane toward us, there are some which makes us want to drop the program.
