Likes

Senior are helping and friendly and guide in academics
Girls ratio is very good and is about 1:5
There nirf ranking is good and some faculty are top faculty of india

Dislikes

The campus is temporary and we have to travel by transport to reach hostel
Boys not allowed out of hostel after 7 pm
They are providing branch change option which I don't like

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is generally matching with competition exam like gate ,IES and many others The course is generally based on industrial requirements The exams are difficult and timing are very good and the course are very good

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 230000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is no internship provided by our college and we self have to get internship by self getting some skills and apply for different projects in companies by showing your thinking skills and tech skills

Placement Experience

This year 2024 student got highest package by students is 51 lakh and lowest is not known and many companies visit here approx 50 company and placement ratio is very approx 80 percentage My plan is to get placement off campus

Fees and Financial Aid

I am getting no scholarship and my college fees is for year with hostel accomodation is 2.5 lakh per year but the students who get admission through sc/St quota there fees is 1lakh per year with hostel accomodation

Campus Life

College campus is soon going to shift in there permanent campus and cognitia is technical fest held in generally is October last and shishir is cultural fest held in March last We can get books from library using I'd card Clasroom are high tech We can get full sports facilities in permanent campus Institute run every club but the students are the coordinator of the clubs

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is provided by institute and we get bed ,table and one almirah The meal is very low quality and menu is very good but cooks prepare in the very low quality The registration form is given and you have to fill the form and submit to warden office And our hostel is in lapalang, laithumukrah, Shillong

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

Admission

I got admission in NIT Meghalaya and admission got confirmation in RTU kota but me self ejected the admission because want to get admission in NIT Meghalaya Admission in this college through josaa counselling and through jee mains exam cutoff for home state is very low but for other state it is very high

Faculty

The students and faculty relationship are good Harshit Joshi is most liked faculty among students We generally not dislike faculty but if faculty torture students Faculty me be disliked by students There is 2 class test and mid sem and end sem

Interview Experience

We get admission through josaa counselling nad there is GD , and interviews and the exam is joint entrance examination and based on 11 class and 12 class syllabus And I prepared for this exam by self study

A Glimpse Into Life At NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

In the 6th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies who want the 7th-semester student to sit in their placement process. The name of the companies are as follows: Infosys 4 offers L&T 5 offers Google 2 offers POWERGRID 2 offers Etc Approximately 71 % of students got placement in many companies. I will do farming after getting my degree.

360 degree review of my college

Placement Experience:

Yes placement's are there because it's a NIT From 3rd semester you are eligibile to apply for internship and from 7 sem you are also eligible for campus placements Many companies visit our campus for the placements some famous names of coma pansies are adobe amazon flipkart Mahindra infosys tata black rock etc and the no of offers made differ each year but the average of offers remains 150plus Highest package of our college is 51 LPA Which is bagged by a cs girl this year from Amazon and the average package also differ by the branches but for mechanics and cs branch a the average package is as good as 10LPA Percentage of students greeting placed is very good for the mechanical and cs branch like 95% placements are there and for others branches also 70% placements is there So placements is not a big issue in this college ???? My plans are simple Mai have to maintains a good ointer to be eligible for campus placements and get a good job and settle in life

A Totally Honest Review for those hoping to get enrolled in NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester. There are various national, international and PSU companies offering job opportunities with Microsoft, TATA, GOOGLE, Vedanta Limited, HCL, to name a few. Highest package offeres is 80LPA offered to a student from Computer Science department from Amazon Company with a whopping average package of 50-60LPA every year and 60% of overall students getting placed 20-25% opting out for further studies and the remaining not being placed. I plan on pursuing further studies and getting enrollment in research programs.

The campus of the university is overall average. We get packages around 10 LPA but mostly students opt for heigher studies as only 10 -20 percent of students successfully get placed My plans are for masters in technology after the degree . Placement Experience:

Due to recession the campus placements are not that good like earlier years. This year the Highest package was offered by Amazon to only one student of CSE department. The package was offered 43 lacs per annum. Rest of the students got a package of 12-15 lacs per annum. The average package was 6-8 lacs per annum. The overall percentage of placement was nearly 88 percent.

So as I tell this a government college particularly NIT so admission in this is done by giving a exam called JEE which is conducted by NTA twice in a year most commonly in January and April So after getting a good percentile in this JEE exam you are all ready for conselling done by JOSSA and CSAB Admission are done in these college according to your percentile and All India ranks The eligibility for this exam is you need to be 12 th pass with any recognised Baoard with 75% Cutoff for this exam you can find on inemternet as this a very popular exams given by 15Lac student every year and only 50thouasand student able to get seat So in counselling you have to fill colleges of tour choice and the counselling system allot you a college according to your performance in JEE exam I have fill some other nits like NIT GOA NIT JAIPUR NIT HAMIRPUR NIT NAGPUR but these are the college I didn't get because of my rank in jee exam All went that wrong is my preparation for the exam ???? I didn't apply to any other college as I was solely focused in the present college.
