Likes
- The campus life is great at St Joseph's we can experience various cultures just in 3 years. We can find many students from various places all around India. They also have many things in campus for us to bond
- The extra curriculars are very helpful complimenting the academics. There are many fests and competitions for all students to participate and engage in peer learning throughout the course. The extracurriculars are entirely on volunteer basis.
- The academic curriculum is very important in this course and gives deep understanding of the important elements of physics. It is laid out in a way that students are able to understand the most important and relevant concepts.
Dislikes
- The class timings for science students are 9 to 5 on most days and for the commerce students its 7 to 11 which makes it tough for students to balance co curriculars after college hours. However it is easier if your Hostel is near college
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is appropriate to give the subjects we leaen. The basis of a good academia is laid in the first 2 years where we study each of the three subjects and the last year we pivot and learn subjects in depth.
Internships Opportunities
Internship are usually for commerce students. For science students we have resarch work where we are tied up with various institutes to offer reach opportunities to various students in different feilds.
Placement Experience
Yes College does provide placement assistance and hosts Job fairs for many students. I belive the highest package secure was 10 LPA . All the students from the commerce stream have to complete mandatory internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is paid for 3 years in 3 installments where fees has to be paid at the starting of the academic year. They take approximatly1,20,000 for 3 years for average performance general catagory student. However people with good academic performance from SC/ST/OBC catagory are given less fees that can be as less as 50,000. There is also finantial aid availible along with mid day meals and hostel concessions.
Campus Life
The campus is located at a very good location giving easy access to all modes of transport. The campus has a good football ground, Canteens and also fully equipped laboratories to aid in academic needs of students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is on campus hostel with dual sharing basis and is only avaible for boys. The campus hostel is only availible for a few students. Other students need to find their own accomodation. There are many PG facilities nearby.
Admission
I applied to Christ University and Mount Carmel College where i got selected. However I choose St Jospeh because of its vibrant campus and exciting college life to balance the rigor of the academic course. The admission process was simple and just one personal interview.
Faculty
The faculty at college are very experienced and are passionate for teaching. They belive in rigor and dicipline when it comes to academics and are always willing to help students excel academically. They are also good at practicals in the laboratories which are helpful and interesting for students.
Interview Experience
I had to give only one interview before the shortlisting process happened. I was selcted for the interview basis my JEE score and past acdemic performance. I also had to write a cover stating why I want to do the course.
