Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is more research oriented. It focuses on research aspects. We start with 2years of introduction to the course before actually selecting it as a major which I think gives a student a lot of time to make a decision and actually gives an insight of what the course has to offer as a major.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are multiple internships available. There's CHARPAK, MITACS , DAAD which are most popular. Students also go for internships to other IITs or professor's of their choice. Summer Internship is also provided by IISERs with multiple projects and available accomodation.

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th year or final year. Most seniors usually opted for higher studies from IISER as it tended to be more research oriented not go for campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

One-Time Fees (First Semester Only): Admission Fee: Rs. 4,000 Hostel Allotment Fee: Rs. 1,250 Campus Development Fee: Rs. 1,000 Total for One-Time Fees: Rs. 10,000 Semester Fees: Tuition Fee (varies by batch): Rs. 33,400 to Rs. 36,700 Semester Registration and Evaluation Fee: Rs. 3,000 Student Amenities & Activities: Rs. 3,700 Academic Amenities: Rs. 3,000 Total Semester Fee: Rs. 9,700 Hostel Fees: Hostel License Fee: Rs. 2,200 Hostel and Dining Facilities: Rs. 4,500 Total Hostel Fee: Rs. 6,700 Additional Fees: Miscellaneous fees for services such as medical insurance and mess charges are applicable separately. Note: Fees may change annually based on institute or government policies. Reserved categories are exempted from Tuition Fees of 36700 . INSPIRE scholarship is provided to people according to their 12th marks.

Campus Life

5

There are main fest happening throughout the year Enthuzia - Cultural Council Arts and Letters - Fine Arts and Literary Council Singularity - Science Council Mahua - Environment Council The library has lots of academic books available and is pretty much accessible to everyone with an ID card. The lecture halls and all academic buildings have centralized ACs and can accomodate large quantity of students. Sports and extracurricular are also spectacular there is annual sports and cultural events between all the IISERs too. There are multiple councils and clubs under this councils which are maintained by the student senate .

Hostel Facilities

4

Mess quality has increased significantly in the last semester. Hostel is affordable IISER it is mandatory for the student to be residing on campus. For the first three years everyone has a roommate and is then later given a single room.

Admission

I actually applied only to IISER and got in and took it. I decided I wanted to go to IISER while at coaching and that's what happened. To get into IISER there are three channels - JEE, KVPY AND IAT. IAT is the specific exam you give to get into IISERs. There are multiple rounds for the admission process where you freeze or float your choice of college. The most preferred I would say is IAT followed by JEE. Cutoffs for IAT are mostly hidden so there's not much of an idea there.

Faculty

3

Faculties here are good. Some are approachable some are not. One will do well in exams if they have studied that's it. There's not much of hard or easy exams here for my department at least. There is an mid semester examination and an end semester examination obviously between which professor's typically takes one or two quizzes in between owing to 10-20% of the total marks . Depending on professor whether they provide and assignment or take a quiz.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

We have a relatively better course structure, but what i think is IISER Pune has the most advanced sort of curriculum which gives them a better advantages and helps in their NIRF Ranking also. All the courses should be type of open elective.

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.

Since IISER Bhopal is a research based institute, the placements here are not judged as in aspect of job placements after bachelor's degree, rather people here generally go for higher studies. But regardless the knowledge and experience gained here by people help them apply for any organisation off campus
