Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose BA Hons because i had interest in civil services and also choosing a central university will make things much easy for me. And also i had this dream to study in BHU so i choose to graduate from here. I wanted an exposure so basically this place is the best for me. We have a number of clubs to enhance skills. I joined the rhetorica debating society of bhu to basically get an exposure and build confidence in me. I dont think so there are any drawbacks about teaching there. The professors use smart board and prepare their own ppts to teach students and they are so excellent and intellectual. There are several activities that keep students engaged and enhance their skills.

Internships Opportunities

5

DR. SARVEPALLI RADHAKRISHNAN INTERNSHIP: it is a one year program with 20000 stipend. The initials students include library science, education, physical education, visual arts, performing arts. CAMPUS EXECUTIVE INTERNSHIP: an internship opportunity at IIT BHU MAHADEV MAITRI INTERNSHIP: it enhances experiences in social work, community development, fundraising and more.

Placement Experience

5

The university has high placement cells fir basically IIT BHU but other faculties also have a placement rate but comparatively low than the IIT and MBA cells. The major recruiters are: Infosys , federal bank, wipro,IDBI bank and some if the internship partners are RBI,SBI,UNION BANK OF INDIA and others. The placements are given after 2 years of graduation. The highest package of MBA stood at 38lpa while the average was 11.3lpa. Talking about my course BA we have an average placement package of 8lpa. The top recruiters include croma, genpact, KPMG,SBI life etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Banaras hindu university is a central university so the fees is at an extent fixed. There are two types of seat regular and paid. The fees for regular seat for Ba hons is 2300 per year and the fees for paid seat is 12000 per year. There is no such reference as different sections of fees it is taken as whole. The registration fees is 500. Bhu does not have its any own specific scholarship its provides the access to government scholarships to students.

Campus Life

5

I am basically overall loving my college life in bhu. Every year the annual inauguration of bhu is celebrated on vasant panchami it is a hindu festival of goddess sarasvati. Different clubs and different groups perform dance acts and performances to celebrate the ocassions. Besides this bhu has a dikshant program every year to give farewell to the graduated students. And there are many more programs and events that keep the college life interesting. IIT celebrates its annual socio cultural fest known as KASHIYATRA(KY). SPARDHA is the annual sports festival at IIT BHU inviting various sports such as cricket, swimming, basketball chess carrom etc. There are several clubs running with students efforts such as RHETORICA(debating club of bhu), MOUSIQUE(music club of bhu) RANGSHALA(threatre group of bhu) TALASYA( dance group of bhu) KALKI(helping foundation club of bhu) and much more. There are multiple opportunities to boost your skills.

Admission

I applied into two universities BHU and DU. I got selected into both the univeristies in their first round allocations itself. I got Miranda house in Delhi university and Faculty of Arts in Banaras hindu university. But i chose to study in BHU because my hometown is Varanasi and my parents wanted me to stay here and complete my graduation so i couldn't make it to delhi university. I knew i lose a very good opportunity but i am okay with the things in bhu too. Basically the procedure for admission is firstly you have to give CUET examination conducted by NTA and then your General test and English marks will be calculated for getting admissions in bhu. Then based on marks of cuet university will take admissions, release cut offs and the cut offs are relevantly high.

Faculty

5

I basically loved the way how professors are approachable to the students and their problems. Students can easily visit the professors and tell them about their problems and have solutions. Either they can put a mail or can visit them into their office personally.

Remarks:

The infrastructure is not too good of the college but that of the university is huge. Also the library have a lot of books but not enough for such a reputed college with an A+ certificate. The canteen area is also without a roof and basically there are just chairs and that too in a very small area. Yet again the university prides itself for Asia's biggest library the central library and the canteen is also very good and spacious.

Highly politicized, mismanaged and poor academic quality. It is a great place if you are really enthusiastic about education and nothing in the world can divert your attention. Otherwise, you are not going to like this place much.
