Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology - A hit and a miss as an Engineering College in New Delhi

I chose Information Technology for it is closely related to the IT sector and programming and I have a personal hobby for programming and coding. The faculty student ratio is above average in the 1st year for there are about 40-50 teachers for the 720 students. All the faculties are PHD and M.Sc graduates from well reputed colleges . Term exams happen 3 months after the start of the classes and are of moderate difficulty

- Students are eligble for placements after the start of the 7th semester where companies start visiting the campus and holding placement drives for the people. - There are about 1500-2000 offers from about 40-45 companies that visit the campus - The highest package usually is from ZS Associates that offer a 16 LPA package. - About 80-85 percent students are placed in our college. - I plan to try for the FAANG companies after getting my degree

The fees for Btech at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology , New Delhi start from 1,65,000/- for the first year with some mandatory one-time fees such as 1,000 for libary fees , some 3,000 for the examination cells and 10,000 that is given to the college's management - Surajmal Memorial Education Society. The fees are same for all categories but the university provides scholarships for the Economically Weaker Sections each year

- Avensis - The technical fest of MSIT held in February last year and ENVA - the cultural fest of MSIT held on the day after the technical fest - Their are a wide variety of good books available in the library - All classrooms usually contain a working projector and a writing board. - The college societies here like Geek Room , GDG etc are exceptionally good that allow for students here to connect with other like minded people. - The campus has negligent sports involved since the faculty here dont let anyone play sports in the main ground

Admission into My College happens on the basis of the JEE Mains CRL in a round format . I got admitted into MSIT Information Technology in the 3rd round of the GGSIPU Counselling 2023 with a rank of 1 lakh 13 thousand in the General Category. Applications were opened in April 2023 and the counselling process took place across a duration of 2 weeks from July to early September

- The faculty to student ratio in the IT department is about 16 : 180 for both morning and evening shifts. - Gitanjali ma'am from the Applied Scienes Department is an exceptional teacher at teaching Applied Mathematics to 1st year students. She's incredibly helpful , listens and clears doubts properly , and gives assignments timely - Some of the faculty like the Applied Sciences HOD is very rude to students and often ridicules students for no reason - There are 5-6 subjects in each semester along with the labs . We have mid-terms , external practicals for the labs and finally external end semester written exams. The exam level is moderate and anyone that knows the syllabus well can thrive. The course curriculum is extremely useful and relevant from the 2nd year onwards ( since the 1st years only have common subjects for each department )
