Course Curriculum Overview

4

The aspect of learning the unknown for not only the exams but also for the knowledge for future purposes regarding the world as well as the country was the one that attracts everyone to enroll. In the real world applications, it's standing compatibility with the partnership of past and present helps to understand the prevalent nature. However, to include more improvements, the faculty can have more field tour and discussions regarding this point. While the exams comes in short time notice, their difficulty increases in each semester.

Placement Experience

3

Since placement for the course in the college is bit difficult, one can see how their qualities are enhanced by the daily working and studying in the college. One can see how it's transcription, translation, creative writing, research on a topic and other qualifications help to get a job in the future as a 1. Teacher 2. Editor 3. Compiler 4. Translations 5. Transcription 6. Archivist 7. Museologist 8. Government employee Etc etc

Fees and Financial Aid

In the admission level, the fee remains to ?12000/- with facilities to hostel goes upto ?40000/-. After the payment, the semester fees from the next semester is taken into account, around ?4000/- per sem with exam fees being not more than ?500. For financial benefits, one can avail to vivekananda scholarship program that sanctions money upto ?35000/- While for science course, it amounts upto ?60000/- and for commerce, upto ?300000/- per year.

Campus Life

3

Though the fest has not been taking place since 2019 due to scandal perpetrated by the goons of ruling party, the campus and social life within the college is that of healthy with intense security. What attracts one is about its democratic nature of debates and discussions. While one can have access to the archives and library of the college, some has the access to the labs with up to date equipments. The club's are basically runned jointly by the students and teachers naming drama, debate, dance, music, literary, etc. Though the ground is far, the sports facilities having little in number, still promotes for betterment in the qualities of the sports.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel has 60 single rooms and two master sharing rooms consisting of 4/6/10 seaters. Each single room in enough to even allow two or more to sit, study, chat or even rest, however one completely resides there. With the payment of 20000/- half yearly, it is quite affordable for all students of the faculties that will be enrolled in. The meals are being light with occassional "grands" being conducted. Though the fund for meals and sanitation facilities are released by the college via a superintendent, it is controlled by the students with every day record of the expenses to be reported to the superintendent. With a single bed in a single room, a table - chair combo, it is important that the supply of a light, fan , bedding and other facilities have to be arranged by the student though the electrician can be conducted there locally. If someone wants to rent a PG, availability is around the vicinity of the institution starting from Maniktola to Girish Park Metro Station.

Admission

What other colleges existed was just because of this popular public fame, with its importance starting to effect not from the get go , that is from the graduation. However, Scottish Church College, from the beginning helps in the all round development in the first semester itself while the exams pressure makes one battle ready. The eligibility for enrollment stands at 90% at its maximum and 80% at its minimum. Since this was the only college that was targeted to get enrolled, it was not needed to fill up another form for another college of the same faculty.

Faculty

4

The faculty of history has around 5 professors with one being the vice principal of the college. The supportive nature of the faculty in the course and in other sectors shows the reason why they are considered to be one of the oldest and smoothest faculty of the institution in Kolkata. With the support of materials and classes both online and offline, the connection between the students and faculty remains strong. The ratio of students and professors stands to 8:1 while the exams are conducted per semester, which are interesting with an immense focus on creating writing. The failure rate in the exams stands little to none m, since the curriculum that it follows has a link with the present time and is relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.
