Course Curriculum Overview

3

As now the National education policy is adopted students get the chance to choose one elective subject from other stream within the options provided by the college. For example, in first year we chose psychology as our elective subject for the first two semesters where we enjoyed learning a new subject. Similarly in the second year 4t semester we chose Microbiology and likewise. In the final we were allotted with a subject called Employability skills where we learnt how to solve aptitude tp crack interviews and competitive exams which really helpful to adapt into the real world.

Placement Experience

3

In the final year from 5th semester the students are trained and made ready for the placements as small fiems and companies start comong to the colleges. During the final semester some of the top co.panies like EY, Capgemini, Intellipaat, Shankara cancer hospital and others appeared for the placements. The avearge package was upto 3,00,000. Almost 60 to 70% students got placed where the reamining students opted for higher eduacayion or preferred off campus opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual fees - 48,000 Government Scholarship Aid for students are available such as NSP upto 10,000 anf SSP upto 2000. And merit prizes from the college and other scholarships are also available to the students based on their family's annual income and their percentage.

Campus Life

4

The annual college fest is the most awaited event in the college which is a large scale program, along with dj at the end and famous celebrities are invited as guests to the college for this event. Sports day and Talents day is also some of the events that creates a lot of buzz among the students which makes them excited to partake. And other minor events and activities are conducted by the individual departments where competitions are held with fair prizes can be won. Yoga and sports period are offered as a course that is conducted once a week and sports are inter college aports events are conducted once a year. Cultural units, youth for seva, anti- harrassment cells and other clubs and cells are available in the college.

Admission

My choice was clear and .y only option from the beginning was BMSCW as the fees for the course were moderate and affordable within the budget and accordi g to the suggestions and reviews from the seniors i was clear with my decision. And as it was women only college which was personally comfortable to me. I did not apply to any other college as it was totally waste of time in my situation as i was not interested in any other colleges. The minimum eligibility criteria for the B.com course is to have 50% and above in overall subjects of your 12th. And the entire admission procedure is conducted in a smooth way without anu difficulties faced by us.

Faculty

3

Lecturers who take on the core subjects of B.com are mostly Ph.D holders with a wide subject knowledge who published their own works. They are really approachable and help you with any queries and genuinely help you with the studies. There are 2 internal tests along with Presentations and Assignments and there will semester wise exams conducted where the difficulty level is moderate. The course curriculum is set by the Bangalore city university even though the college is Autonomous where they can alter the minute changes in the curriculum. Almost all the Commerce faculty are friendly and approachable with any issues faced by the students and there are not much lectures who are fislikable. The only thing is some of the lecturers could change their teaching style so that the students would feel more comfortable learning their subjects without any obstacles.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
