Course Curriculum Overview
Actually i was very passionate about automotive industries from my childhood. I used to love cars a lot and it was a dream to built a car on my own. That's why i wanted to become an engineer to fulfill my dreams which has lead me here. This is the reason why i choosed this career path. Curriculum should be more optimized in my opinion because nowadays industries require candidates with hands on experience skills. The practical work should be more as it gives you a hands on experience and should teach things which are relevant to what actually industries requires these days. Difficulty level is moderate if you study well.
Fees and Financial Aid
Im currently in the fourth year of engineering and yearly i pay around 1,56,000 this fee includes everything which is needed in clg (for academics), SC, ST has very less fees as compared to us. One of my had applied for EWS (Economic weaker section) in which the clg fees is 80,000 for a year. To avail for scholarships you need decent academic status (results/score) to apply for one.
Campus Life
Actually thakur college of engineering is very good at organizing technical fests and events which are held on monthly basis on a large scale. Library is pretty decent we have lot of books in library for each and every department available in thakur college of engineering. We have projectors in classroom with white boards which make things look good and easy to learn. We also have AC's in classroom so hence no one feels suffocation or warm. We have a proper event for sports in college which are named as T-Sparks and Reflex. We play a lot of sports when this events are conducted. I was the TCET NSS Unit head in my college (it is a Social body club of college). There are many clubs and even technical teams in the college for F1 cars like mavericks racing and eclipse racing.
Admission
As we all know that nowadays the travelling has become so hectic and challenging and consume a plenty amount of time from the day excluding the college hours. I saw thakur college of engineering as a good close by option and it is a tier 2 college nearby. Rest of the college are tier 3 around. Actually my preference was thakur college and some of the other colleges too. But my first preference was the thakur and luckly i secured an admission in it. At my time the cutoff for mechatronics department was around 82 percentile.
Faculty
So basically i am from Mechatronics department and if i talk about the faculties then most of them have secured MS in Mechanical specialization and of them has MS in Manufacturing and designing. So they have a decent qualification and the teaching is also good they discuss many concepts with greater applications. There are two faculties that i liked the most (i won't reveal name) because they are like super supportive for me. They have helped me a lot of times to grasp things and also in my projects which has helped me a lot. Now if i talk about the exams, then actually it is not difficult if you are studying good and if you understands the lectures properly. There are some peoples in my batch which are still failing to clear subjects like around 10-12 students. The faculties teaching is strongly relevant to the industry requirements just need skills that requires more practical knowledge.
