Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose the course of bachelor's in mathematics and computing because it is one of the most rapidly growing branch and his branch's future is incredible. I preferred it most because I am maths lover and have interest in data and statistics. As we know it is a new course so the curriculum is best and much advance compared to other courses. In this course I don't learn only the core subjects but also the courses like communication skills , entrepreneurship , environmental, economics and human values and ethics. This thing makes the student eligible to face real world problems. I improve myself alot by that courses and feels much confident to do whatever I do . The college also has different clubs to improve yourself in which field you are weak like public relations club, English club, coding club, etc. The improvements that I want to do in curriculum are Teachers should take regular tests so that students are ready for exams . Use of latest technology in teaching. Course curriculum should be updating every year. Teachers should use mics so that students can easily listen. The frequency of exams and timings are very good and the difficulty level is decent enough to judge the knowledge of a student . Mid semester exam are comparatively easier than end semester exams so students should prepare good in mid semester exams because they are easily high scoring.

Internships Opportunities

4

Microsoft,IBM , Wipro and some other provides internship opportunity to first year students for the basic understanding of AI and also organise webinars and workshops. I am in first year so I don't work as intern in any company because most of intership are paid.

Placement Experience

4

Students eligible to seat in interview for placement from third year (6th semester) Many MNCs and startup companies visit the college oftenly such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Infosys, reliance, tata, Walmart, Wipro, JP Morgan , etc. Almost 1290 offers made this year 82% of students placed this year After getting degree I planned today become a data enginner and continue my career as data scientist.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got several relaxations in fees because I am belongs to ST category. The amount that I paid during college allocation and counseling was 37500 My first year tution fee is zero First year hostel fees is 72200 Institute charges are 34100 and 21100 for first and second year respectively Total fees of first year student who belongs to SC/ST category and those whose family annual income is less than 1.5 lakh is ?127400 Similarly for second year Tution fees = 0 Hostel fees = 72200 Institute charges are lesser than first year which is 42200 Total = ?114400 Again similar for third year Tution fee= 0 Hostel fees = 72200 Institute charges = 42200 Total = ?114400 Also same for fourth year. Total course fees according to latest fees structure for BTech in NIT Hamirpur ?470600

Campus Life

5

Annual cultural fest : Hill fair, held in November Annual technical fest : Nimbus, held in April There are a lot of books available in library Almost 90000 books available in library of my college and anyone can easily access these books . The classrooms have a very good infrastructure and ventilation system Digital board, projector and speaker provided to us which is much enough good for a student The college provides us all sports facilities which are operated by different sports teams Almost all sports facilities are provided here such as cricket, football, tennis, badminton, volleyball, kabbadi, basketball and even martial arts and yoga also Apart from this the college provides us to join ncc and nss to fulfill our dreams of joining defence and do social helping works . Many extra curricular activities provided to us includes dancing, singing, public relations, South Indian cultural group, and the thing makes it unique is Moto sports club, app team . Yes , all of the societies and clubs run by students only and some digital apps and portals, groups also runned by seniors.

Hostel Facilities

5

Here , college provides us light, fans , almirahs, ethernet cables to use unlimited data, sanitation facilities, bench and chairs, bed, switch boards in hostel rooms. Meal is very good and customisable and the unique thing is that the mess is run by mess committee in which first year students get the post and improve the food experience according to demand of students. Hostel facility is affordable and registration process is much easy. If you rented outside then you pita almost double amount than hostel fees and you also don't get the hostels environment which is the most important thing in college as I think.

Admission

In josaa counseling I give preference to the South Indian college because their rankings , culture, placements but I got this college that is in Himachal Pradesh. Before getting this I don't have much expectations from this college but when I spend 6 months in this college I appreciate my decision to confirm this college because it gives me more than my expectations and I had a wonderful experiences in that period of time. Admission process is same as other NITS and it is a simple process . The admission process as you should qualify the jee main examination with 95+ % ile if you are from other state and in general category. Cutoff is fluctuating every year but almost same . My admission experience is very good and I enjoyed the process

Faculty

4

First of all, most of the faculties are good and supportive. Faculty to student ratio is one of the best here I think All faculties try their best to build a healthy relationship with the students. I like my physics faculty most because he helped me a lot in academics as well as motivates and guide me to how to deal with the problems in college life . I like all of my faculties but sometimes some of them use hard marking during evaluating marks and ignore our views on answers . They hardly increase marks . We had 2 exams per semester one is mid semester exam and another is end semester exams , marks ratio is 40:60 along with practical exams also in first year . Exams are not difficult if you study at the level of school you can easily score lot . Very less number of students fail in exams , just 2-3 students failed in my section out of 90. Course curriculum is not much advance but it is almost at same level as another college had .

Students become eligible from 7th semester for campus placement but you can apply off-campus if you want. A lot of times off-campus placements are of better amount than on campus placements. Almost out of 400 students present in a year, 100 get very good on campus placements.(Almost above 10 lakhs) 100 get between 5-10 lakhs And rest ho for higher degrees although they get a placement of 4-5 lakhs
