What Students Say
Likes
- Four beautiful small blocks and each one is unique as all of them have a student activity corner inside.
- There are some ages old trees and they are the ones that make sure our campus looks green and clean.
- One refreshments or canteen which is enough to look after the students meal issues as during evening tea and samosa becomes a mandatory thing.
Dislikes
- Just one library and that too is in admin block and I feel they should have one more library at least.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.Com ( Hons) is not just the oldest course of DU but is also the most decorated one. B.Com (Hons) from DU means that we get equal value as BBA or other soch courses from any top private universities like NMIMS or the Symbiosis Pune. Exams happen two times for every semester and they are held together with DU colleges circular as college may have off timings but for exams there is no discrimination.
Placement Experience
Yes, for placements again there's no discrimination as they happens along with the morning college students. B.Com (Hons) students are hired by accounting firms including KPMG and others from Big 4 and banks like ICICI and Axis Bank are always in charge for hiring students of B.Com (Hons).
Fees and Financial Aid
26000 plus is the fees defined by DU for B.Com (Hons) and it was the same for all three years. Reservation students do get scholarships but one scholarship that Satyawati College offers and is unique is HTBF (Help the Blind Foundation) scholarship. Students are admitted and has to pay no fees.
Campus Life
The fests and events happens and the best is the fashion show that happens every year and a miss frehser is awarded the crown. Great to be a part of most DU events as i-card of Satyawati college is enough to attend any DU college events. For evening college there aren't many societies but we are always pushed to take up some social cause we Satyawati College believes in giving it back to the society. The campus isn't as illustrious as the Hindu College or Gargi College but facilities wise it is well facilitated.
Admission
Evening colleges are never a first choice of anyone and that too Satyawati, definitely not. For morning also the cut off wae 670 and I had a score of 624 so I was left with only one choice perhaps. Admissions here starts in March as after the HSC exams we have to sit for CUET entrance and results are out by June. Admissions are confirmed in July and sessions begin in August.
Faculty
Evening college has same number of faculties as day college and this is like insane. Students are less than half but faculties remains the same. It is indeed a problem or plenty as already subject has at least 2-3 professors and sometimes we dont know whom to approach as all of them are great.
