What Students Say
Likes
- I really like being part of the college's Student Forum.
- The college is always very clean and hygienic
Dislikes
- The faculty here is terrible. They just have expertise on paper. Shortage of staff, thats why subjects like aviation are also taught to us by the teachers who have no expertise in it.
- The building is so small and the canteen most of the time does not give you change of your money. They also refuse to take upi transactions
- The crowd here is bad too. It feels like the personal interview and entrance were just a formality. They are ready to take in anybody who is willing to pay them money. Extremely vulgar and uncomfortable crowd (as a girl)
Course Curriculum Overview
Or course and assigned textbooks just teaches us the superficial stuff that too on the basic side. When we compare our topics to the people doing the same course in other colleges they are all learning about the topics in deep whereas we just have the surface level knowledge of the stuff
Placement Experience
I have myself not sat for the placements but upon asking the seniors I heard that though the big 4 companies come to our campus, they barely choose anyone and their packages they offer students of this college is comparatively low. Only 2-3 students actually get placed from the college placement. For others to be placed, they have to be part of the college's placement cell.
Fees and Financial Aid
1st Year- 1,90,000 (Tuition fees) + 15,000 (registration fees) Scholarship: 90% above (30,000 concession), 95% above (45,000 concession) 2nd Year- 1,90,000 (Tuition fees), Concession of some amount (not specified) only after both the semester results 3rd Year- 1,90,000 (Tuition fees), Concession of some amount after 2nd year results
Campus Life
The building is very small but the I like the overall infrastructure and hygiene. Its not the best but the conditions are better than most of the colleges. The crowd overall is very demotivated here. Almost everyone are just here for a degree and they want to continue their dad's business. The crowd is nice no doubt but I was personally hoping to meet more corporate smart people. However I found those people too among the herd. We have various councils and forums i the college which students can be part of and they are all very well functioning. I myself am part of the student forum and you get to learn a lot there
Admission
I ended up in this college because i couldn't make it to the other colleges. I applied at christ universtity and didnt cut their personal interview. I also applied at St. Josephs University but even after the results were announced, they never called me in for an interview. After asking they told that they are only taking in people above 95% above for the interview whereas I scored 92%. However, none of that was mentioned in their website or brochure. Also later I found out that many of my classmates who scored 85% or less did get a call for an interview. Then I applied in Jain University Jaynagar and there I figure out that they do not provide BBA as a course. However, their brrach in Vasavi has that but it is affiliated with bangalore city university rather than Jain University.
Faculty
The faculty situation is terrible at our college. Roughly there is one teacher for every 80 people but also these faculties feel like they do not have expertise. Most of the faculties are forced to teach subjects which they know nothing about just because we dont have staff for those subjects. Ms. Anjana who was our Indian Economy teacher in 2nd semester used to avoid any doubts if we asked any and she just read and dictated from the board. Its not just her, almost all teachers are like that. Exam situation is terrible too. There o proper scheduling first of all from the university's side. They'll inform us a week prior to exam that we have exams and that too again at the risk of getting postponed. They stretch one semester to 9-10 months which should be 6 and then try to cut down on next semesters to 3 which should also be 6. Due to this we dont even get proper college vacations. However the correction is pretty leinen here I believe
Interview Experience
Yeah there wan a computer-based test followed by a online personal interview. The difficulty level of both wasnt that high. The teachers asked fundamental questions. Also from what I have seen, these interviews and tests arent mandatory. I have seen so many people getting admissions just like that even in mid-sem
