Gandhi Samad's Review On Birla Institute Of Technology - [BIT Mesra], Ranchi

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. GPAT score is what taken into account and in 12th 60% or more is mandatory. Also JEE scores are considered but again baby IITs level of score is required and therefore students mostly come through GPAT here....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college. I applied for BITS Pilani as that score which is BIT-SAT is accepted here. I got rejection from there and BITS Goa too but I was eligible for BIT Mesra and that too the chemical engineering branch which was the left over branch. So, I was happy that atleast i got a good college....Read More

Considering my JEE rank BIT Mesra is the best college I could have got . With a branch like EEE in one of the best GFTI of India I am very glad . We have to have a good JEE rank to enter into the college . The college has 50% seats reserved for the HOME STATE students ....Read More

I joined this college for the reason that I wasn't anything else better tbh . I do feel now that I made the right decision as the college is far better than many private institutions.
