Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is really basic, they teach general psychology in first year, development psychology in 2nd year and then in 3rd year they give option to choose from abnormal psychology and counselling psychology. Curriculum for abnormal psychology is amazing and if you have Akshaya maam as your teacher then youre really lucky cus shes amazing.

Placement Experience

3

I dont know much about placements for psychology as i wanted to continue my studies further but there is decent placent opportunities for commerce students in mcc. Some of my friends from that department got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For my course, fees for first sem was around 60 thousand and it gradually decreased as the course proceeded. Fees for Non- karanatak students is higher than Students who are from karnataka and since im from delhi, my fees was higher as compared to my other batchmates

Campus Life

4

Culah is the annual fest where people from all over bangalore come. Its really fun. The library is kinda small and has decent collection of books. There are smart classrooms wich projectors and white boards.

Admission

I applied to st. Xaviers, mumbai and mcc. I couldnt get into st. Xaviers so i decided to come to mcc. Mcc has a simple admission process where you're required to fill out the application form and then they have an interview.

Faculty

Some teachers in psychology department are wonderful, they have really interactive teaching style and are very knowledgeable. Most teachers are approachable as well and very understanding. But there are a few teachers that are opposite. There are 2 mid sems (theyre called CIAs in MCC), one is online and other is offline and theyre for 30 marks each, for psychology i had practical exams as well. Then there is end semester exams for 70 marks.

The curriculum and teaching methods are good, but they don't use any digital boards to teach. Teachers solve each and every problem of all the students in the college. They encourage students to participate in all the activities

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was clear about choosing this stream as after 12th mind was fixed for preparing UPSC-CSE. So curriculum i had was exactly same which u needed!. Geography is very interesting subject and it further broadened my knowledge after i choosed the subject. We needed to write exam twice a year as many of us know it was a semester based. Question papers were of moderate difficulty and competent enough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The idea of doing a triple major in one degree is what motivated me to choose this course. English, Political Science and History are interlinked in many ways that we know. Also, the course was primarily curated to help aspiring students for the Public Service Examinations, UPSC and SSC. The course really does an amazing job is getting the students ready for competitive exams.

Placement Experience:

For my exact department, campus placements for undergraduate students isn't great, but thats a concern for any college in Media Studies. Companies like Accenture and Bosch do come for roles like HR or Corporate Communications though, and with how the University teaches, employability is pretty high off campus, with students using their network built during their internships done in their earlier years to land a job. Starting salaries vary depending on the role and company, but start from around 3-4 LPA. Im currently into UI/UX, looking for an internship so I can start working once i graduate.
