VIT- An Honest Opinion

The course curriculum is pretty relevant but very rushed. Real word applications are less. Course curriculum should be more detailed and teaching should be better. Most faculties have such bad pronunciation and language. The frequency of exams is good whereas timing is bad. They keep exams on sundays!

We are offered internships from companies such as Siemes eda, blackrock, bain, schneider etc. Roles are mostly software or business analytics, stipend varies from 10k to 70k. We have projects mandatory which are monitored by faculties.

We are eligible for placements from the 7th sem. Till now, 150 companies visited and 800 students have gotten placed. The highest package was from google as 70lpa. Only 20 percent have gotten placed in the last 3 months. I plan to get placed and work after my degree.

The year wise fees i pay is 3.5 lpa. This is the 2nd category. We have categories up till 5 and more. The 5th category has fees 5lpa. The categories are decided according to the VITEE exam rankings. I am of general class. But my friend from SC class pays the same fees.

We have gravitas in September and riviera in february. Gravitas is technical while riviera is cultural. Our library is very fast with 5 floors. We have all kinds of books. We also have an e library to access journals. Our classrooms have face scanners for attendance and smart boards and projecters. We have sport fests marathons and competitions, dance and music functions are also held. We have many student run clubs and chapters too.

We have ac rooms and non ac rooms. The room sizes vary according to blocks chosen. We are allotted rooms based on cgpa. We have mess food but meal quality varies with caterers. Menu is constant and barely changes.

I applied to SRM chennai too, but i chose this college due its better reviews and ranking. I got rejection from bits pilani due to giving a bad test. The tests for bits was long and time consuming along with it being really hard. The admission process for vit started with VITEE exam and your rank determines which course you are eligible for and in which category. Then we have orientations once fee payment is made.

Faculties are not all same, some are very chill while some hate students for real. Dont take tamil faculties they hate us. The best faculties are those who can relate to the students and understand our needs while providing good studying materials. I had some horrible faculties who mistreated students to secure their own jobs. We have 3 exams, cat 1 cat 2 and fats. Cat 2 is difficult.
