Campus in lush green and air is clean in Hamirpur
We get freedom to visit Hamirpur market every weekend.

Dislikes

Strict restrictions on outing of hostel, you can't leave hostel on weekends except if you're going out of the campus itself.
Hamirpur doesn't offer recreations such as a city like Delhi would've provided

Course Curriculum Overview

First year syllabus involve basics of all disciplines which isn't hectic and is fairly relevant, half of the sections are taught first semester syllabus(subjects) and other half are taught the second semester (subjects)

Class Size: 117Course Fees: INR 166000 per year

Placement Experience

NIT Hamirpur offer in campus placement with placement going on all through the final year.campus is visited by Texas Instruments, Google and other good companies. Highest package was around 1.8 crpa, I plan on joining a core ECE company after placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Semester fees include tution fees of 60K, and institute fees of 21K making total of 80k thus ~160k annually, I am not recieving any financial aid nor have I applied for any scholarship.SC/ST and students with annual income less than 1Lpa recieve concession in tution fees.

Campus Life

Campus Life is good, annual tech fest is Nimbus organised in even semesters and cultural fest is Hillfair during the odd semester. Central library is open to all providing range of technical and non technical books. Classrooms are equipped with smart board for better teaching air conditioning is provided in the new lecture hall. College is saturated with cultural clubs and top of the line sports facilities. College houses technical societies which deal in various fields such as electronic, robotics.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are spacious with one ceiling fans and 2 wall mounted fans, 2 Led tube and personal almirah for all students and balcony in every room. Meals in the message are really good, with assortment of meals servinga non-veg/ paneer 4 times a week. Hostel registration was easy and instant, i cound complete it within an hour.

Hostel Fee: INR 70000 per year

Admission

I chose nit Hamirpur over manipal because it was closer to my home town. NIT Hamirpur admits through JOSAA and CSAB councelling. I messed up viteee and jee advanced based on my rank in jee mains I would've gotten newer IIIT's which wasn't ideal

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members aren't rude and teach well, our timetable is manageable. Teachers haven't tested in class however there are midsems worth 30 marks, and end sems worth 50 marks . Midsems were fairly easy

Likes

Infrastructure and quality of education and supportive professor for building our success career
Very supportive atmosphere for growth in any engineer branch
Very good approach towards creativity innovations and practical projects

Dislikes

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

campus placement is good to moderate means is great avg package is 600000 as of my b.tech cse. yes for eligible for campus by 75% attendance , have to not a backlog in any sem need to pass each semester .

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Dislikes

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation.
