Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is exceptionally relevant and current for CSE branches - by the end of 3 years you will have learnt WebDev, Database Management and will have dsa+programming knowledge in Python, C/C++ and Java. And all are taught in the curriculum. The exams are spaced apart 4-6 weeks and are easy-moderate to study and pass.
Internships Opportunities
For internship, you will be offered SDE Intern, Data Intern, Analyst Intern and Researcher/Scientist Intern roles from prestigious companies like FAANG, Citi, DeShaw, Microsoft, PayPal, Cisco as well as startups such as Motorq. Stipends offered are 50000 per month minimum. Internships are notoriously difficult to bag in third year, but in fourth year they are more attainable.
Placement Experience
100% Placement Guarantee ar VIT Internships and PPO start from 5th semester, and Placement+Internship offers from 7th semester. All FAANG and prestigious companies recruit from VIT, and packages can vary from 3LPA to 1cr+. Average is 10LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee: Category 3 fees ? 3LPA Hostel fee with special mess ? 1.7LPA Category 1 through 5 has around 1LPA, 2LPA, 3LPA, 4LPA, 5LPA yearly tuition fee respectively (can expect ±50k fluctuations) and the categories may have increased since 2022. All kinds of merit scholarships available once admitted.
Campus Life
Two annual fests, the fall semester tech fest is Gravitas and the winter semester cultural fest is Riviera. Clubs host flagship events during these fests. The library is well stocked and updated with all kinds of books and the facilities in classrooms are also good. The sports and extracurricular activities are also promising.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities after first year depend on your or your next roommate's CGPA so getting a good room is your responsibility. But overall very passable hostels, AC and NAC. Mess is variable but can attest that special mess is pleasant.
Admission
SRM, IISER and KIIT had also offered me a seat but I chose B.Tech at VIT since the course had offered more opportunities and was closer to my goals than other courses at other colleges. To get into VIT you write the VITEEE exam and apply for counselling. The admission experience is quite smooth.
Faculty
70 students per faculty, the best and least liked faculties are shared on WhatsApp groups among VIT students. I will not be naming them for their privacy. The best faculties teach the best and award generous marks during midterms and finals. Exams are conducted in slots from A1 to G2. Exams are generally easy to pass. Curriculum is updated and current.
