Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted for mechanical engineering and the curriculum and course of mechanical engineering here is upto date and latest My decision to take mechanical engineering was purely based on the employment trends and the opportunities vit has to offer
Placement Experience
After the completion of 3rd year you are eligible for campus placements in vit vellore and TCS being a mass recruiter every year the college has almost 100% placements and many opt for higher education and research so for that also vit offers a variety of options
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in vit is based upon their entrance test the higher your score is in VITEEE the more scholarship you get, currently I am paying 500000 for tuition and mainly girls have more scholarship options through kotak Kanya scolarship program and this year Volvo has also offered scolarship to a girl in mechanical engineering
Campus Life
Overall campus life is great during the day you'll get all sorts of activity to do you'll never get bored here and plus the infrastructure here is top notch the hostels study facilities and sports amenities, etc. only drawback is you can join clubs from 2 year and not sooner
Hostel Facilities
In vit vellore hostel is compulsory you can't stay at rented apartment. The freshers are mainly given M,N and Q block for accommodation and the hostel facilities are also very good there is a general store in each hostel a laundry space clean and hygienic bathrooms overall it's better than many indian colleges
Admission
I was targeting government colleges like nits and iits but I was not able to clear the JEE so I started applying for private colleges in which I only applied for 3 colleges bits, vit and manipal Out of these 3 exams I cleared vit and manipals entrance test And as vit had the better rankings I opted for vit vellore
Faculty
For the first semester you get teachers randomly and from the next semester you can choose which teacher you want on the basis of first come first serve. Vit has 3 types of exams CAT,PAT,FAT. Fat being the final assessment
Other Applied Colleges
Manipal Institute of Technology - [MIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Vit had better rankings
