- Campus is located on the hills area so it is fun to roam in the campus.
- Weather of the campus is very nice being situated in the mountains.
- Girls to boys ratio is also good than most of the engineering colleges approximately 1 : 3.5
Dislikes
- NIRF ranking of the college is not upto the mark.
- You can't change your branch after taking admission into the college.
- Minimum 75 percent attendance criteria is so bad.
Course Curriculum Overview
You'll have two exams in a semester, first is mid sem and other is end sem.course curriculum is good.you have to cover half of the syllabus before midsem and full syllabus before end sem.Focus on the mid sem examination also because it's marks also count.
Internships Opportunities
You can start working as an intern from the 5th semester itself.There are many companies like Microsoft,Google, Amazon which provide internship to the NITH students.But it solely depends on you that you'll get a internship or not.
Placement Experience
Placements vary branch to branch .you can start working as an intern from the 5th semester itself but it solely depends on you and your skills that you'll get a internship or not. Civilians placement is not upto the mark but you'll get a job if you have skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you don't have have any reservations you'll have to pay approximately 170000 as your college fees (including tuition fee,caution fee etc.), hostel fees will be charged separately. If your family income is in the range 1 lakh to 5 lakh then you'll have to pay only two third of the tuition fee and if your family income is less than 1 lakh then you'll have to pay only one third of the tuition fee. Scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes students doesn't require to pay hostel fees. There are many scholarships available for the students which they can avail after taking admission in the college.
Campus Life
There are two fests which held in my college. One is Cultural fest Hillfair which occur in the October and second is the Technical fest Nimbus which occur in the second semester of yours.Fests are exciting because so many clubs and societies participate in it.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is good.There are 8 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel in the NIT campus. First year boys and girls will get Kailash boys hostel and ambika girls hostel respectively.Food is not too bad.Menu is also very diverse.
Admission
I got this college because it was my first priority. I was getting IT and ECE branch in the IIITs but due to high fees and low exposure I didn't go to them.NIT Hamirpur is a well established college and provide more exposure to the students.
Faculty
There are enough faculties for students to teach.HOD have lot of experience over the subject.somehow you can feel that their teaching is not upto the mark but their are enough mediums to pass the examination..
