I disliked the mess food quality and no cleanliness in the hostel rooms.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum for the electronics department is quite good it trains us for the placements and real world applications in the future upcoming years. There are many innovative subjects such as Entrepreneurship and Marketing Dynamics and Communication Skills.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 500000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I have to pay 75000 fees per year as my academic fees as I have OBC category. A general category student has to pay 180000 per year as his academic fees and the hostel fees is same for everyone that is 80000 per year.

Campus Life

There are many societies and clubs within the college which organizes events and techincal, cultural fests through out the year. The library at NITH is one of the largest in INDIA with approx 100000 books and the books are free of cost for all the students.

Admission

I applied only at NITH as it is near to my home place, Kullu. For the admission process a candidate must score atleast 75% in his board examination of class twelth and for the electronics branch the cutoff in the JEE MAINS was approximately 99%ile.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is quite bad. It is approximately 1:50. The faculties are quite approachable and they even take doubt sessions. The name of the faculties I liked the most are Pratibha Mam(CS Department) Sriram Sir(Chemistry Department)

Overview of NIT HAMIRPUR

Placement Experience:

The placements are really good especially for computer science and electronics. This year only one of our senior got a 1.2 crore package he was of computer science branch. Rest of the branches also have a decent package 11 lpa being the average of all branches combined and also chemical branch has a 100 percent placement rate.

I found that placement ratio is nice in my branch I think my branch has major role in real life because chemistry is real life thing Definately if teacher can improve their way of teaching like make class more interesting 3 hour exam and exam is hard

Placement Experience:

Not sure but I think from 6th semester ur eligible for placements. There are lot of Companies that visit NIT Hamirpur like google , Infosys,TISCO and etc. Highest package ever offered is 1.75cr in CS branch and each year 1cr plus package are offered to cs students by different companies like google , meta and etc . The percentage of students placed is normally 80 to 90percents overall. And I also intend to get a decent package after my degree

Nit Hamirpur and experience

Placement Experience:

The campus placements of nit Hamirpur are very much good and the highest package offered in 2022 is 173 lpa and in 2023 56 lpa. I don't think so that that the starting packages are very bad. Average package is 7.54 lpa in all over courses

Remarks:

This was the best college I was getting computer science branch in. This college has an average package of 21lpa for cse and the coding culture and alumni network is also really good. So I gave jee mains and got 96percentile in this percentile I had few options of Nit kurukshetra (material science) , IIT UNA and NIT HAMIRPUR (electrical engineering), I also applied for MNIT jaipur in EC branch but didn't make it in councelling so I have to choose between nit kurukshetra or nit Hamirpur so I choose nit Hamirpur because I didn't wanted material science branch. The reason to reject IIIT una is because it's still under development as it's recently established so it's infrastructure and campus is not as developed as NIT Hamirpur.
