A glimpse of GBPUAT, Pantnagar (College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences)

It is total 5 1/2 year duration course , which includes one year of internship. In first year we are having three subjects, in 2nd year 5 subjects, in 3rd year 7 subjects and so on. 1 yr of internship includes clinical posting and clinical practices.

We have internship period for about one year. In which we have to practice in our campus clinics for six months and for 3 months we are shifted to IVRI, and left 3 months we have our own choice for choosing the college according to our own preferences.

We have 100% placement and college placements are also present. From last two years their is 100% placement going on. Highest package goes around 1-2 lakhs and average package is around 50,000. After degree we can go for higher education for PG, Phd, MVSc or you can go civil practices and open own clinics.

Fees of our college varies every year , it depends upon the year in which we are studying. In 1st year it was 1,20,000 and in 2nd year it was around 80,000 3rd year it is around 1,50,000. These fees detail is for the students who are studying with government seat and the fees structure of student with private seat is different.

Overall campus life experience is very great. We have various different adventures which leads to our great personality development, character building, social skills. We have various societies in our college and university level.

Hostel facility is average according to me. In 1st year one room is shared by 3 person and in rest years one room is shared by 2 people. We have a proper schedule for food offered in mess. Mess food is 3 out of 5.

I applied for AFMC Nursing college where I was selected for the interview round but at the same point I got admission into CVASc Pantnagar in 2nd counselling. I always wanted to be a doctor therefore I choose to stay here.

All the faculty members are very experienced and knowledgeable. Dr. R Housa maam who teaches physiology in 1st year is very energetic, disciplined, and motivational teacher. We have three hourly exams of each subject out of which best two marks are added in final result. Two practical paper, whose average is added and two written examination whose average in added to the final result.
