What Students Say
Likes
- Low fees, as compared to other private colleges in Pune. Faculty members are very helpful.
- The ratio of girls and boys is equal and its a very good thing to consider as in Law colleges.
- A lot of workshops are organised by the college on the latest social issues.
Dislikes
- The whole law college is on one floor, doesn't even a whole building or campus.
- The infrastructure is average, library is worst due to small in size, even smaller than the classrooms.
- There is no compulsory attendance so students are not serious about lectures is a big turn off.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exam pattern is perfect according to me. Even the question paper is not that difficult if you have studied well. They honestly does a hard work in organising moot courts and even they approach very well to take part in inter collegiate moot court competitions. They help a lot to the students who shows their interest in giving their 100 percent performance. They always keep us familiar with the real world issues and also take us out of the boundary to show us and learn more.
Internships Opportunities
Every year there is alegal aid held jn Pune District court, and our college takes part in it very enthusiastically. I did it for 2 months and also got a certificate. There is a whatsapp group for internship opportunity informations. Thats a great thing. The college also takes part in other colleges fests like street play, dance, moot courts, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees i paid as a Outside Maharashtra Student was 39000/- yearly, but for domicile student it was 21000/-. But later it is same as theirs. Admission fee was extra 18000/- for OMS students. Registration fees is 200/-. I guess it's the most cheapest college in pune as compared to other private colleges. There are scholarships for the other categories students of Maharashtra only. The college is semi autonomous means semi govt. I didn't got seat in this college although i secured 93/150 in MHCET, because i didn't preferred it in the preference list. So i had to pay donation which almost double as for OMS as compared to MS students. But still not very much. The college takes part in many kind of activities as inter college competitions. It arranges workshop to gain extra knowledge to the students. Overall it an average college.
Campus Life
All the maharastrian festivals are celebrated so gladly. Also the college organised a fest of 3 days as requested by the students. Garba was also organised in 2023. Facilities are okay not quiet good but library needs a bit more space for a wide number of students it has. Books are limited need more stuffs. Sports i don't know much as i am not a sport person. Clubs are made as cells like NSS group of students and faculties, legal aid cell and a cultural committee. Not much.
Admission
I also applied to many other colleges but i got selected in the worst college, Bhartiya Vidyaeepth college of Sangli. But i got other options in Pune ofcourse with donation, i chose Fergusson law college which i guess demands a quiet high donation which is something 7-8 lakh. That's a lot for me atleast. So got other options like Sinhagad law college, modern law college and dy patil law college. So as compared to others Dr. D.Y. Patil Law college is better than those above as heard from the localites. But still expected a lot more than this, because it is renowned for its engineering and medical colleges.
Faculty
The faculty is very less as compared to total students all over the college. They are bit impartial to he OMS candidates. They mostly teach in marathi which is quiet disappointing for other students who don't understand the language. The faculty which i liked the most are Prof. Sagar Verma, Prof. Vijeta, Prof. Samruddhee Shah and Prof. Arjun are good teaching staffs. There are no mid semester exams which is i consider important to make it easy to learn for the final semester. They only take the final end semester exams which is two in a year. Not a lot of study material is provided in the library and not even provided by the teachers except the mentioned above.
