Remarks

In order to get into law school for a 3-year law course, you should have a bachelor's degree prior with at least 60% and above. After that, you need to give MH-CET for 3 Year of Law Course entrance test and on the basis of the cutoff, you will be given colleges. Details of the Application form and fees and dates are given on the MH-CET site.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty members are well-qualified and very helpful to students. You can reach any faculty at any time of the day and they are ready to help you. Exams were on time and due to covid, our last sem exams were delayed by 1.5 months. Exams were a bit difficult but if you study well you can achieve good marks.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for 2019 - 2022 batch:- For Maharashtra students its Rs. 25,000 per year i.e. for 3 years it will be Rs. 75,000 plus the exam forms fees of the university. For Non - Maharashtra students its Rs. 50,000 per year i.e. for 3 years it will be Rs. 1,50,000 plus the exam forms fees of the university. For the recent fee structure, you can check on the college website. Finance Assitance is available for Economically Weaker Sections.

Campus Life

2 years were ruined by COvid - 19 pandemic due to which we had no fest. In our last year, there were many Cultural competitions and 1 cultural fest. The library is filled with law books, journals, Legal reports, AIRs, and Current Affairs. Basic Amenities with projectors and moot courtroom.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum specially the first two years focuses more on subjects like history, political science etc and prepares are foundation for law. The curriculum is well inclusive of the practical aspects of law as well as the theory which prepares you well for the real world applications. The course can be improved via adding the amended laws like add in GST to the taxation laws. The internal as well as semester exams are conducted once every semester. The difficulty level is easy to moderate for both. We get a study leave of around 20-25 days before every semester exam to prepares ourselves well.

Placement Experience:

The college is known for campus placements in every sector especially corporate and practices at the Hon'ble High Courts and the apex Supreme Court of India. Many also opt for going into the judiciary and become High Courts and Supreme Judges. Many legal luminaries and stalwarts including former Chief Justice of India Y.V. Chandrachud and late Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh are an alumnus of the college. The companies usually come for recruitment in the final year of the course i.e, the 3rd year or the sixth semester to be eligible for placements. The college also provides pre-placement training. Law students are not recruited to placements, they enhance their skills participating in national and international moot courts, arbitration and mediation competitions across the globe. Various law firms which visit are Khaitan and Co., Mindtree, Mulla and Craig and many other reputed organizations. The highest placement is around 13 LPA. 70% placements.

A comprehensive review of Dr. DY Patil law college's curriculum and padagogical gaps

having appreaed in many law entrances like CLAT, AILET and MHCET and other private law colleges like christ and symbiosis. My admission got confirmed in christ and symbiosis but didn't opt got Christ as it is located remotely from the whole city and has no connectivity. I had to drop symbiosis as i was waiting for the result of MHCET. The crurial factor that differentiates Dr. D.Y. An affordable and nice college as a last option for pursuing law.

I also applied to many other colleges but i got selected in the worst college, Bhartiya Vidyaeepth college of Sangli. But i got other options in Pune ofcourse with donation, i chose Fergusson law college which i guess demands a quiet high donation which is something 7-8 lakh. That's a lot for me atleast. So got other options like Sinhagad law college, modern law college and dy patil law college. So as compared to others Dr. D.Y.
