Remarks
Jain College of Engineering is excellent when it comes to academics and faculty but has to improve Training and Placement resources. Infrastructure is moderate but the environment is suitable for academics.

Entrance Exam
Course Curriculum Overview
Since our college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, the curriculum and exam structure is framed by them. To be honest, the curriculum framed by VTU is quite vast but, it is relevant and research driven. It is quite difficult to score in VTU exams since the difficulty level is high. But, at the same time, it tests a student's basics to the core and hence helps at the professional level.
Internships Opportunities
When it comes to internships, I think this is something JCE lacks in providing info. There isn't any accurate info on internships by the placement cell. Candidates need to get it done by themselves. However, workshops keep happening frequently.
Placement Experience
I won't say that JCE is best in providing placements but it's intermediate as compared to other colleges. Placements occur frequently in the final year but with a moderate pay scale. However, overall the placement cell strives hard and tries its best to facilitate each and every student.
College Events
Usually, there are many events occurring in and around JCE. There are many events which are organized by each department for its students such as freshers, farewell and others. But, the prime event is the annual techno-cultural festival called "ODYSSEY", which is a two-day event wherein participants from all over the places come and participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course that I studied was the Bachelor of Engineering. Normally, the fees are 68,000 in which 50,000 is towards tuition fees and 18,000 is college fees. For the first year, the college fees are 18,500 whereas tuition fees are the same. Then, there are many other expenses such as department activities fund, examination fees, and such others may be approximated to 5,000. This information is applicable to the students admitted through the CET examination. I don't know much about the expenses of a student admitted under management seats.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no scholarships offered from the college. Anyhow, the office staff members provide frequent updates regarding government scholarships through notices. However, they are also displayed on notice boards. There are many scholarships that can be availed according to one's caste and income info. I availed my scholarship by applying to the National Service Portal online and submitting documents in the college.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. The environment is friendly and there isn't much harshness or noisy conditions. A study-friendly environment I'd say. The gender ratio is almost the same. Extracurricular activities are a bit less. However, sports activities are carried out frequently. Labs are well equipped and competitions such as Roborace are organized wherein students not only participate in the race but also build the robot which they are using to race. Apart from these events, there are many workshops that are conducted by respective departments. All the technical events and workshops are very good and impart practical knowledge to students.
Hostel Facilities
There is no college hostel as of now. It has been planned to construct a new hostel and work has already started. It might start functioning from the following year. However, it is only for boys and there isn't any girl's hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni and senior students are very helpful and co-operative with juniors. In fact, all the events that are organized in JCE are with the help of teamwork and coordination between juniors and seniors.
Exam Structure
Since JCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, it follows Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) according to which 30 marks are assigned for internal exams and 70 marks are assigned for external exams per subject.
Admission
I applied to this college with the help of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). Counseling was done on the CET website, the document verification, as well as payment of fees, was done which confirmed the admission.
Faculty
Frankly speaking, the faculty at Jain College of Engineering is excellent. Especially, the faculty of the Electronics and Communication Department is brilliant. Faculty members are so much friendly, co-operative and knowledgeable that they can solve any problem within the syllabus quite easily. Not only regarding exam syllabus, but they also help if a student is interested in carrying out some other innovative tasks.
