The corporate world of SCMS !

The decision to choose this college, was mainly due to the placement facilities. Reknown companies like EY and TCS are providing placements for freshers after bcom. It also well prepares you for interviews and how to do well in corporate world. The frequency of exams even though is a bit stressful helps us to cope up with the syllabus and improve academically.

During our second year we did our internship with a company called Hedge in palarivattom. Nevertheless we didn't have any stipend facilities . We just did the internship for future experience. It was a really good experience where we went to an actual office and worked.

The placement oppurtunities provided by scms is the most attractive feature of the e college. Degree graduates are getting placed in the topmost companies of India itself. There is hardwork included of course but students choose this college so as to experience the best job opportunities. From the fifth semester onwards campus placements start and companies will visit the college and chosen and deserving students get an opportunity for interviews in the best companies of india. EY and TCS are some of the best companies from which students get good placements. In the fifth semester itself 10 students aldready got placed and a lot more yet waiting. According to the offers made by these companies the annual package is 4 to 7 lakhs per annum which is nearly impossible for a degree graduate fresher. The students getting placed have good marks and percentages in subjects such as 75% and so on . I personally am waiting for a good placement and plan on getting into a good company after classes

The fee structure for SCMS in bcom computer application is 58,000 INR per semester. As in total 1,16,000 INR for an entire year. Other than that they provide certification courses for which they charge an extra 6000 INR. The students who got admission through merit has fee structure 25,000 INR. For the complete course the fee structure is a total of 3,48,000 INR for the management quota students and 1,50,000 INR for the merit students excluding the certificate courses. No changes in the fee structure has been made so far. For the admission in the college the fee is just 1000 INR . We have to pay 10,000 extra at the time of admission as caution deposit. Other lab fees and development fees are all included in the tuition fees itself. Also if we bring any damages to the college properties we have to pay extra or we do not get the caution deposit back. The fee structure for my batchmates of taxation has to pay fees of only 48,000 INR per semester.

The campus life here is really good since the past years and the friendships and campus is something im really gonna miss after the college ends. There are many club activities in the campus in which students can join whichever they want . Like dance club, cooking club, music club, tourism club, etc. We also have activity hour twice a week for these club activities. We have lots of tech festivities held in college such as Hackathon which was conducted a month ago. Also annual fests include Aroha which is held every year in the month of march where students from colleges all over india attend scms. In the library we can get access to any books and study journals with which we also get support from our librarian . In our classrooms we have a projector from which we get visual classes which helps our memory to improve a lot.

The hostel facility in the campus is very well . But the food quality is not up to the mark. Since the food is made in bulk the quality is not much satisfactory. Due to the same reason i had moved to a girls pg near to the college itself in muttom. There we stay with our batchmates where we live as a family helping each other . Here we cook and clean ourselves. The hostel fee is 30000 per year and i did not think it was worth the money hence moved to another pg.

Scms was better than other colleges in the case of placements and standards. The admission process of scms was also simple enough. Within 4 to 5 hours we had gone through all admission process and also had done the admission for hostel and gotten in . There was nothing complicated. I had applied to several other colleges like kmea and i even got in but i didnt like the campus of kmea . It was conjusted. The eligibility in scms was 75 percent and above in 10 th and 12 th standard. The exams you can write includes the admission test for the college. There is not cutoff you just have to pass the examinations.

The faculty of scms are really friendly and cooperative. Whenever a student requires the help of teachers they are more than happy and welcoming to help us in whatever way possible. In a semester there is an internal exam , model exam and finally the semester exams. All the exams have moderate difficulty and can be scored better if we study accurately.
