Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus are very vast and there is no proper time for studying. The semesters are lasting for few months like three months. No proper trainings or applications are given to students. Internships should be provided.

Internships Opportunities

As I am a civil engineer students we had got internships on Total station and GIS from Indian Institute of Infrastructure and development,Chavara. Internship on Revit software was offered by the college

Placement Experience

Placements are provided on the seventh semester for all departments. An aptitude test is conducted for attending the interview and selected based on the performance. Around 5 companies had came with placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees including tuition fees, activity fund, career guidance, tech fest, arts and sports is 41530 merit category. Scholarships like MCM, E K Nayanar and other scholarships for SC and ST categories are given

Campus Life

Sports and other extracurricular activities are not encouraged. Arts are conducted on even semesters for two days. Each department had their own association groups and is working good. NSS activities are good

Admission

Keam entrance was written and the admission was based on the rank list. I took admission because the college was on my native place kollam. So travelling become easy. And moreover it is a government college

Faculty

Two internal exams are conducted during each semesters and a final exam on end of the semester. An internal exam and a final exam for each lab. The internal marks are based on these series exams and assignments.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I get this college as a merit seat. I had written the KEAM entrance exam and I got this college according to the rank I got in that entrance exam. We have to give some options of college for the allotment criteria. I choose Government Colleges first but I didn't get as my rank is less when compared to the ranks taken by the government college. Next I preferred government aided colleges and I placed my college as the first option as it is under cape , and I could be a day scholar as this is of less distance from my home.
