Course Curriculum Overview
I chose geography as I have a lot of interest in this subject and it gives you a lot of practical applicable skills..it prepares us very well for real world applications as we do a lots of practicals with lots of field works and activities.. it's all good,I have no complaints regarding teaching methods, the professors always give their best..exams are held after every semister (approximately twice a year) and the difficulty is average.
Internships Opportunities
I don't know much about internship yet as I'm still in the 1st semester but I'm sure the college gives good opportunities.St Edmund's college is one best and most renowned institute of northeast India so I'm sure it will not disappoint.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the course I opted my fees is around 27 thousand rupees annually. This is the total annual fees for BA geography and it includes all the fees like registration, lab etc..fees can go higher or lower depending on the course . Science based courses have a higher fee structure meanwhile subjects like English have the lowest . Scholarships are given by the state government and not by the college.. scholarship can be around 30 thousand rupees
Campus Life
Campus Life is very fun .. lots of clubs for whatever interests a student has . There is a big field and courts for sports, studio for music and many more facilities. Fellow students and seniors are also very helpful and friendly, ragging does not exist in St Edmund's college.Edblazon is an annual event that goes on for weeks with lots of activities, parties and events. The library of this college is one of the best in the state and has even e learning sources .
Admission
I applied for st Edmund's and st Anthony's..I chose st Edmund's over Anthony's as Anthony's did not have the course BA geography and I didn't like their campus.St Anthony's and St Edmund's were the only colleges I applied for . Earlier I wrote clat but couldn't clear it.In st Edmund's college admissions are done online and the main criteria is your class 12 marks .There is no specific cutoff .Most preferred students are catholic students . Overall admission process was simple and direct .
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is good ..in my department there are 5 professors and all these 5 professors teach around 60 students a batch.. Faculty is I very good I have no complaints..exam is conducted by Northeastrn hill University as the college is affiliated to it..we get good results and we have toppers from our college every year.
Other Applied Colleges
