Realities of Scottish church College kolkata

The course circullam is mediocre. The staffs are well learned but many teachers remain absent and the course is not done thoroughly in the classes .. at the end of the day you yourself have to study making notes to pass the exams. the teaching of staffs are just an overview or rather a skeleton structure of the syllabus

Their are intership opportunities provided by the college after which you are supposed to write a report on it for fetching marks. They provide you with rooms to stay but the rent of room and food is to be paid by the student themselves.

The fees structure for B.A political science in Scottish church College Kolkata while admission is around 13 thousand, and after the semester they charge another amount of rupees 900 which calcuting for total comes around upto 14 thousand yearly. While admission the formfillup for general students is 500 and for reservation holders it is below 500. There are no scholarships provided and no cutting of fees for the reservations. But there are additional benifits for Christian category students as it is a Christian minority college.

The campus life in Scottish church College is good with zero disturbance in studies there are no fests, no politics , no ragging. Sports are held yearly and there is a huge library for you to access the books . There is nothing much facilities in the classroom except the benches and a projector and fans . There are clubs like the drama club, dance , music, photography etc.pujas are celebrated like the Christmas , Saraswati Puja .

The hostel provided for girls are either 3seater or 2 seater rooms.. there are 3 floors for girls to stay starting from 2nd to 4th . The 1st floor is occupied by the male staffs of the hostel who cook food . In the 2nd floor warden madams room is also there . There is a lift in the hostel. Washrooms are medium cleaned. The masi of the hostel who is supposed to clean the rooms doesn't come daily she only comes in a month once or twice depending upon her mood. Their is a student body in the hostel group . Down there is a common room mainly used by students to study as the room is more of a storage room with dirt and dusts as the cleaning masi doesn't do her work. The food provied are so and so. They will not provide u food more than once. Insects like vegetable worms do come out of cooked vegetables . There is a water filter in the ground floor near the mess where one can fill their bottles . No parents or gurdian are allowed in the rooms!.. the terrace remains closed.

I applied in lady brabone, St Xavier's, Bethune college, asutosh College, Loreto College of which I got admission in all of them except St Xavier's. I got rejected in st Xavier's as I didn't have the required cutoff of the year 2023. In Scottish church College we are required to 1st Fillup a form of rupees 500 and wait for the cutoff list which gets published in the college website in a month, then the call lists come up according to the vacancy and reservation seats are also there. After which if your seriel number comes in the call list you will be asked to make the admission payment within a day or two in the link provided in the scottish church website, and then you will be called at the college after a month when admission is over to get the documents verified

The faculty members are very friendly course structure is also reasonable there is anti ragging in our college. The course is tedious and new ccf pattern of exam the course is divided into 2 semesters .. Papers include the major paper , minor paper , sec paper, IDC paper, cvac 2 papers , aec paper For the 1st 3 semesters
