Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of our course BA Psychology (hons) is really helpful for me as it's concepts give and syllabus give good perspective of psychology. For psychology it really prepares us well for the real world application by its well versed teaching methods and concepts and also by making us gain practical knowledge by conducting practicals. For me the areas of improvement could be it emphasize on more practical concepts than theory concepts. We get adequate amount of time for our exams to prepare and the difficulty level of the course for me is medium.
Internships Opportunities
For our 3 year course in ug level there was no internship opportunities provided but for pg level there is a compulsory internship program which is conducted. But in the upcoming years which is the 4 year degree course there is a compulsory internship program.
Placement Experience
From semester 5 the students are eligible for campus placements. The companies like Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, EY, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Axis Bank, Dabur,Godrej, Britannia, ABP, Reliance, Wipro, Flipkart and many more visit for placements in the campus. Post-graduate students are undergoing rigorous Internship with some of the leading organisation like, Balmer Lawrie, Tractors India Limited, State Bank of India, United Bank of India, Press Trust of India, Friends 91.9 FM, The Times of India, Coal India Limited, Tata Hospital, Hope Foundation etc. I will not be pursuing my line in corporate rather than on the path to be a clinical psychologist

Our library has a wide range of books and journals available for the students and they can also sit there and study during there free time with computers with internet access. Our classrooms have both black board and white board which projector in it. The sports and extracurricular in our college is very well versed each year many inter college fests and tournaments are held here. There are many clubs and societies in our college. Students can join there whatever interest they pursue or hobbies they have.
Admission
I got selected in 2 colleges which is Sister Nivedita University and Shri Shikshayatan College I didn't get into these two colleges because I'm not the much interested in sociology , psychology was the main criteria for me to major in and also the second college was really far from my home. I also applied to Gokhale, Bethune and Loretto college but didn't really get there because of the marks eligibility. The admission process of my college is pretty simple we just had to fill up our forms and wait for the selection lists. For ug level there is no admission test but for pg admission test is required to get in there. The cut off for ug level is 60% and above in boards examination.
Faculty
The faculty in my department which is the psychology department are really friendly and approachable. Not everyone but most of them are like this. Dr. Soma Pramanik, Dr. jhilly Das (Tewary), Dr. Moumita Mukherjee are the best faculties according to me in this department because they are very empathetic, friendly and approachable and they also teach concepts very clearly. I didn't like Dr. Anurupa Kundu as I find her not that approachable and also I had a hard time getting used to her teaching. There are 2 exams taken the first one is the Continuous Internal Assessment which is of 30 marks which is scaled down to 10 marks and the other one is the end semester examinations which is of 80 marks the other 20 marks basically consists of presentations and class discipline. Not many students fail to clear the exams atleast from my department. Our course which is BA Psychology is really relevant in the university.
Other Applied Colleges
Sister Nivedita University - [SNU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Sociology)
I preferred psychology as a subject more than sociology
