What Students Say
Likes
- The college is very well reputed and the faculty is quite good. They offer a wide range of practical based studies for most of the subjects and the staff is also friendly in nature.
- The college is located at a extremely good location, surrounded by a friendly environment. It is not too populated and the area is safe at night as well. It has many companies nearby so it's a advantage for both the recruiters and the students.
- There are various societies where students can join and explore different fields for their future.
Dislikes
- 70% of the staff is south. Many of the students often face the problem of not understanding their dialect and accent.
- The campus is not too large and the college doesn't allow students to play during the college timings.
- There are little to no cctv cameras in the campus which makes it extremely prone to cases of theft.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum offers a vast area of subjects and the students can choose their electives in 3rd and 4th year. The students have to prepare a mini and a major project in their 7th and 8th semesters. The college mentally prepares us for the interview which will help us get placed. The only improvement i would like is to improve the staff members as for some subjects their is shortage of staff.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees is around 1 lakh for the college but now that JSS has become a university the fees has doubled to around 2 Lakh for Bachelor Of Technology. Management Quota requires extra money I don't have much idea about it. Currently the fees will not increase for about 3-4 years but due to new installments and renovations it will increase gradually.
Campus Life
There is an annual fest that is conducted by the college named Zealicon in which the students can participate in a wide range of educational events and earn money. The college has a library that offers a vast range of books. There is almost facilities available for every sport and their are societies which offered different fields of education and sports.
Admission
The main reason of me taking admission in JSSATEN was the locality and it's reputation. The college has many well reputed companies so they have a placement advantage over other colleges. The people and localities are quite educated and treat students good.
Faculty
Faculty members are quite friendly and knowledgeable about their respective subjects. The college conducts 3 internal exams every 1 to 1.5 months and the only disadvantage is that they conduct 5 exams in only 3 days but some also see this as an advantage so that they doesn't spend most of their time studying for exams. Internal practicals are also conducted once per subject and they contain 50 marks (The rest are final semester practicals). Finally at the end of each semester the university conducts sem exams which ends in about 10-12 days depending on your course.
