Likes

I liked the environment of college you can easily get comfortable with all kind of stuff
I liked my department, mathematics department the professors are very helpful and supportive they will support you in every possible way they can
College office is better than many other colleges they will provide help and process everything as soon as possible in their hands

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not very good it can be better
Placement cell is present but as a general degree college it is not so active

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is good it is designed to get a good knowledge in the field of mathematics. Who will pursue higher studies in mathematics they benefited from this but also who are planning to switch into different field they also finds help in that.

Class Size: 17Course Fees: INR 28000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The per year fees was around 9000 it might be increased in future but still very affordable and if you scored more than 75% and tour family income is less than 2.5 lakh per year then you will get 12000-18000 per year scholarship(If you perform upto the mark)

Campus Life

Campus was good college has a good seperated central library building, one building for commerce and one for arts and science(main). College has common room where you can play games like carrom, table tennis ect. And college has it's own ground for sports. They have good classrooms in which most of the classroom has smart teaching facilities.

Admission

I got a good marks in my 12th so I was sure I will get admission in a good college as far I researched for college I saw that Gurudas College is a excellent college for mathematics the faculties are very good and college is not to far from my home so I admitted in this college without thinking any more.

Faculty

As far as my knowledge the faculty of Department of Mathematics are best they always try their best to provide the students best understanding about mathematics and most of the faculty are very student friendly which is the best thing you will be encouraged for the better opportunities in the future

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
