Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is a new one since 2019 which is more clinically oriented and patient focussed. But I donXt know whether it is helping or making students' lives tougher by undue pressure of passing prof exams. We have formative assessments and midterms quite a few times per year and then send ups. Final exams are held annually.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship is not an opportunity in MBBS, it is a mandatory rotation duty which all MBBS final year passouts have to do. It is a great period where one can learn the functioning of every department. Stipend as of now (2024) : 15,000 per month

Fees and Financial Aid

#Tuition fee structure : 1. Till batch 2019 : 1st year 80k 2nd year 90k 3rd year 1 lakh 4th year 1 lakh 10 thousand Internship 60k 2. From batch 2020 1st year 1,60,000 2nd year 1,76,000 3rd year 1,93600 4th year 2,12960 Internship not clear #Hostel fees : 40,000 per month # AC Fees : Around 24,000 per season #Scholarship available : AMDANA

Campus Life

3.5

From this year we are starting a fest named VEISALGIA. Hope it will continue to happen ahead. A sports complex named CISCO is builg inside the campus which is the only eye catcher of our college and is honestly maintained. It allows students to play various sports and Gym. Also has a small canteen.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities first of all depend on ehich block u are alloted to. According to me the best built for girls is New girls hostel. And for boys too one 10 floor hostel building is built which is still unnamed so I think that would be the best. Hostels are affordable but the facilities provided are much less as compared to the fees. For girls mess is good in B block, G block ans NRI block hostels.

Admission

I applied to GMC PATIALA DMC LUDHIANA GMC FARIDKOT as well, wanted to get patiala but didn't get. Admission process through BFUHS based on state ranking. I was getting other semi govt and private colleges. Eligibility for admission : NEET UG cutoff clear

Faculty

3

Faculty is rather less approachable. They are not much involved personally with any student unless a student gets caught doing something too rubbish. One thing I don't like is some faculty members will use students for everything but will never support them when they need it. Prime example is Dr. Mridu Gupta (HOD Physio)

Mbbs study is bit tough but you can cope up with it if you've good gompany to enjoy the phase of life. The curriculum is bit tad and vast. You need to work hard and smart to achieve it. Everyone have differ style for studying and everyone should deal with it their own. Don't see others and compare yourselves with them!

Course Curriculum Overview:

The new curriculum is too good because now its baaed upon competencies a medical studtent should achieve after graduating, which is necessary so indeed it prepare us for the real world applications The teaching method now used is mostly on ppt's which can be changed to a better mode like using boards to engage student in a better way according to me And the exams ,wether its formative assessment or send ups or the final exams are planned very correctly so that a student can prepare for the finals in a way that it doesn't build up too much pressure on the students
