Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Course primarily focus on theory with very some practical experience i wish they could grant a summer internship but they didn't gave it person have to apply off campus internship. From my opinion they need to provide internships more often or atleast 1 includes in course

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees can vary as fees structure changes frequently but as for my per semester fee is approx 37,250rs But I've Sikh scholarship which grants 50% off on per semester fees.It made it easier for me to afford, caution deposit was around 10,000rs,Library fees per semester 1000rs per semester,t shirt and bag cost was 2000rs...So my total Cost of course was Around 258009 From which scholarship grants me 50% off

Campus Life

2.5

Festivals are also been celebrated like ganesh puja ,Sarswati puja etc with that they also announce frequent concerts on ground i didn't attended ur to be honest but many of my friends do..Library book collection is also pretty good u will found almost every subject related books there.

Admission

Main reason I've applied for this college was short distance from my home and scholarship facility which provides some comfort... actually i was late in admission as other colleges admission dates were already passed so it was my last option but i won't regret the decision as college life here in JIS university taught me many things

Faculty

2

There are always exceptions when it comes to faculty some are very approachable while some may be daunting to ask questions and they dismiss quite often...Dipankar sir is very good atleast for me he teaches in very easy to understand language for making it easier to grasp complex topics he took classes for around 3 semester excellent teacher according to me...When it comes to exams most of teachers provides suggestions before end semester it's pretry useful for exam point of view.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Placement is provided in final year . Average package offered is 3 to 4 lpa . Paid internship is provided in 3rd year and the placement percentage is more or less ok. After complication i will either pursue Msc or look for a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
