Life and Research at UAS GKVK Banglore

The university has a great name in the applied agriculture biotechnology field. The curriculum was excellent and combines both theoretical and practical aspects. The examination system was grade-based with semester-based pattern with monthly internals. One deficiency was that there was no Hands on Training program.

Agriculture officer in Banks was the placement available. National Banks like Canara conducted placement program for students. Most students went abroad for their Ph.D and others to institutes like ICAR in Delhi and joined as Agriculture Research Scientists.

For two years of post-graduation course fees were 2500 per year. Other fees were availed through the fellowship. For other candidates, the college charges around 40000 per year. University accepts Indian Council of Agriculture Research Fellowships and Department of Plant Biotechnology fellowships. Candidates can also avail of Karnataka state government fellowships.

Campus life was excellent, with different sports activities and research fields available. There were intercollegiate annual sports meets, annual gatherings, and various days celebration within the campus.

Hostel facilities provided for students at an affordable rate. Have to share the room with other 2 students. The quality of the meal was also good. There was a separate hostel for foreign students. The fee structure included in annual fees.

I have given preference to college because of excellent nurture and best faculties with strong research connection across the globe. University provides excellent research courses and training methods in biotechnology

The faculty were excellent having vast experience in the biotechnology field. There were 1:20 ratio, as all faculties were on site, they were easily available for the students. Faculties like Ramanjini Gowda, Shailaja Hittalmani, and D Dayal Doss were excellent in their specific fields, and also most helpful in completing my research thesis.
