Likes

I like the lush green campus of the campus and it's exposure to everything
I like the infrastructure,the facilities provided in the hostel .
The classroom environment is pretty good

Dislikes

The mess food is not that bad but due to insects in food it creates a mess
The rooms are quite small and it's uncomfortable for two people to live in
Some professors strictly instruct to follow their methods only

Course Curriculum Overview

I know that electrical engineering is the toughest branch in engineering but I got this branch through counselling and I did not have any other option .But with the help of professors and mentors , I think I can get a strong hold on this branch

Internships Opportunities

After 3rd year students are eligible for various internships . We have to apply within a given period .We will be selected on the basis of our research area .All depends on the cgpa. Yes ,we are paid a stipend to meet our expenses

Placement Experience

From 6th semester we become eligible for the campus placements.1320 job offers were available this year .Highest package was 1.2 CR and average package was 14 lpa.330 companies visited the campus. 90 percent students got placed

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 1/3 rd of tution fee because I fall under 1 lakh to 5 lakh income category and I am paying 19833 rupees as tution fees for which 62,500 was to be paid.And per year I am paying 1,29,833 as fees

Campus Life

Nitsustav, cosmopolitan , innovision are some of the technical fests in.our campus. Riddhi is the annual fest.90,700 + books and journals are available in the nit r library .All the classes are air conditioned and well structured. More than 10 sports facilities and more than 90 clubs are available Inter nit is held every year which is a competition between the nits

Hostel Facilities

The size of the room is not upto the mark and for two persons it's very uncomfortable. Mess food is very unhygienic and behaviour of the mess staff is very rude. Parents are not allowed to the room during hostel accommodation.

Admission

I applied for most of the top nits and I finally chose this because it falls in my home state and falls in the category of top 5 nits. I got this college by scoring 98.9 percentile in jee mains and the cutoff for electrical engineering was 17 k to 19 k rank

Faculty

The faculties approach us in a very polite way and they are ready to clear our doubts all the time . I like my basic electrical professor very much because he makes the concepts very easy. Our electrochemistry and conducting polymer professor can't teach to a very good level

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

I had a choice for chemical engineering in NIT Calicut,kerala my home state but i was not interested in chemistry so I dropped that choice and preferred electrical engineering in NIT Rourkela because choosing this would be more related to core and computer field which also was the one I was interested in. Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. Everything about NIT ROURKELA ( campus life, placements, fees )

The best aspects of the college is the campus. It's the second largest campus in India. A lush green campus with a very good mess facilities. The buildings are great. Hostels are also good. Evrything about infrastructure was a plus point. Only negative point is the non availability of airport due to which some companies refuse to come a pick students.
