Campus Life

4

Campus life is actually pretty good. Toch really got its own culture. Maverix men's hostel, Safety department adds some extra ingredients to the campus life.cricket and football are the favorite sports in TIST by winning many intercollege cups. Last year our chess team progressed to the state level competition. Badminton, table tennis, volleyball, etc are also entertained. There are many debates and conferences held during regular intervals of semesters including international and reputed talks and interactive sessions.

Hostel Facilities

4

My hostel fees are about 40000 per annum. The hostel provides shared bedrooms. There are 2 bedded, 3 and 4 bedded rooms available. The building is divided into 2 blocks. Over 300 students can stay there at a time. Mess food is fine. The hostel is actually pretty hygiene. There's a table tennis room inside the hostel, T.v room is also provided. The hostel is one of the best experiences you'll have ever in Tist. #maverix

Alumni/Alumna

We do have contacts with our alumni as they help us in our placement activities, sharing their experiences thought and being an encouragement to become an entrepreneur.

Admission

To join computer science at a fine college was my priority. Friends suggested this college and got a seat in 1st allotment itself. I liked the campus from the first visit itself. I am a hosteler and so I joined the campus in early June itself. Then onwards I'm a happy member of the TIST family.

Faculty

4.5

The teaching style and lecturing are excellent. There are class groups with faculties for doubt clearance, for information passing, and to provide course materials. Faculties are available almost anytime for helping students. Most of the faculties are preparing for Ph.D.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.
