Course Curriculum Overview

It is very relevant and prepares us for real world applications and further academic pursuits. The course deals with literary theory, criticism, literary history, linguistics as well as American literature and Indian writing in English.

Class Size: 130Course Fees: INR 19388 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available however I have not applied for any so far and thus remain in the dark about its process. I wish to gain enlightenment about the process soon and probably will within a week.

Fees and Financial Aid

19,388 is the fees i paid as someone belonging to the obc category. 19,388 is the fees for hostel and mess. I am not sure of the fee structure for those belonging to other categories. The hostel application charge is 75 Caution deposit which is refundable is 3000 Hostel establishment charges is 300 Hostel general amenities fund is 770 Hostel mess fees is 13098 Hostel room rent is 1100 Hostel utility and maintenance is 1045

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is pretty amazing. Festivals are thoroughly enjoyed. Each department have their own Library where books can be referred but not taken out. There is also a main library with a reading room that remains open till 3 am.

Hostel Facilities

A room in Narmada Hostel has three occupants. Three beds and three tables with three chairs. Two alimarah and a shelf to be shared by all three. Wifi and water filtration on every floor. Mess is in a separate building. Mess food quality is not very high.

Admission

I've applied to English and foreign languages University. Got in for English Cafeteria. Heard about the administration response to rape case. And applied to Hyderabad University but didn't attend physical verification as I was in Pondicherry University.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is strict during class as it is a central university. The schedule is hardcore classes from morning to noon. Softcore timings are from noon to evening and the exact timings depend on the softcores. Softcores are only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday is film screening and Thursday is for RCF which is a research and cultural forum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my course we are learning a lot of theory papers like cultural studies , gender and queer studies , subartern studies , critical approches to theories and so on. Even in the thrid sem i had a project of translation under one of the best facutly in our department. This strengthens my resume. These syllabus are really helpful to participate clear competetive exams like ugc net . We had a lot of questions from our syllabus in the previous exam. To tell about the exam , timing is 3 hour for every paper. We dont have any practicals or labs. Paper inclues 2 marks , 5 marks and 15 marks.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements after their second semester. That is when recruiter officers approach students for their interest and interviews. Amazon is one of the main recruiters. The average package is 5lpa starting. 40% get placed. My plans are to pursue a PhD after my master's.
