Likes

Everything is good here, atmosphere, faculty, facilities and all
Boys : Girls ratio is 2.5:1, not bad though
The best thing here is friendly professors.

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are a bit less in size, a bit tough to settle
It would be better if we could use sports facilities more
Mees food sometimes get deteriorated. .

Exams occur frequently, exams are a bit difficult. Our curriculum is good enough, it really prepares us for further world applications and academic pursuits. So it is good enough for students. Curriculum is

Bs-Engineering and Economics students mainly get placed, BS-MS students goes for further studies like PhD. Average package is 10LPA. I will apply for PhD after my Bs-Ms dual degree. Highest package offered is about 36LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

We(General,OBC) paid 15000 at the time of the admission, then Rs 33400 as tuition fee, and for various facilities, we paid 9100 and Hostel fee is 6300Rs . SC/ST doesn't have to pay 33400 Rs as tuition fee. Scholarships like Inspire is available in IISER, you need to be fresher and marks are different for every state board.

Campus Life

Social life here is just awesome, clubs interact with us a lot, we can see a lot of talks going on in a week. You can get all academic books and non academic books at library. Classrooms are advanced enough

Hostel Facilities

We get 2 bed , 2 table,2 chair, 1 fan, 1 tube light ,2 table lamp in a room. Room is not too big. You've to stay with a roommate. Mess is good enough, mess fees is about 3400 per month. We get various foods

Admission

I didn't apply for any other college, I always wanted to be in research field, so I am here. The admission process can be done through IAT exam, it is of 240, marks, the cutoffs are around 100 marks for general

Faculty

We usually have 2 quiz(20% weightage in total), 1 mid semester exam(30% weightage) and end semester exam(50% weightage). There are a lot faculties, who are very good at teaching, I can't specify a single person who is best, overall they all are nice

A brief review of IISER Bhopal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

IISER BHOPAL : A HOME FOR MANY

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

My thoughts on IISERB

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

Knowing IISERB engineering sciences

Placement Experience:

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.
