Teaching faculty is excellent in their work as well as supporting students in pushing them out of their comfort zones to do better.
Seminars, webinars, workshops etc were conducted throughout the course
College fests and events were refreshing, interesting, and entertaining.

The administrative staff of the college was sometimes rude

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course for business, management, Operations Research and statistics. It paid back! The course can be more practical than theory. Exams are conducted every 3 months on an average. Difficulty level of exam is moderate.

Class Size: 170Course Fees: INR 22000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Each semester the student had to pay 10-11,000 fees for b.com (hons) course. Several scholarships were offered to not only reserved categories but also for general category students based upon family's annual income upto 8 lakh. Under this scholarship, fees of all 3 odd semesters was refunded.

Campus Life

Freshers and farewell parties, college elections, youth festival held around October - November. Librart and reading room have plenty of books, journals and newspapers to read. All of it is easily accessible. Sports festival is conducted every year around feb-march in which every department can participate. Intra-department sports fest was also organised.

Admission

I kept this college on first priority while filling admission forms and eventually I got the admission too. I choose this college because of its good reputation among my school seniors and cousins. I did not get rejected from other colleges. Admission process is very easy and mostly online. There was no entrance exam for b.com hons.

Faculty

There is one faculty member for every 25 students. Teachers are very understanding and approachable. Most teachers put them in students' shoes to help them, solve their problems and make their lives easy. Mr. Rajal Kapoor ( HOD commerce ), Dr. Anupreet Kaur and Dr. Tanuja Talwar ( Assistant professors dept. Commerce ). These teachers were the most welcoming, supportive and filled the environment with homely, positive, warm energy. Each semester, mid semester exams and finals are conducted. It is easy to clear the exams. Over 95 percent students are able to do so.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

in terms of relevance. I must say that college has planned it all very significantly and the college exams is also very moderate easy to moderate kind of exam. MST is conducted one month before the final examination.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

First of all this college is most renowned college of the Tricity and Being Government aided College it has it own importance . And if anyone of students is getting admission in this college , no one would have deny the opportunity. I have got admission in other colleges too but I preferred this college for its various facilities provided. For admission process you have to apply via centralised admission portal where you get the admission on the basis of your merit which is a sound method according to me. The Best Life of PGGC-11

This college is the best govt college in Chandigarh. The education level, the infrastructure, the co-curricular activites, the participation in youth festival is beyond the same of other colleges.
