Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is relevant for the current day technology industry requirements. They teach in a interactive way making us take part in seminar and develop mini projects for internal marks. In the lab sessions for particular courses we learn and execute practically. Overall it's helpful and prepares us for real life applications if we also put in the work. The mid term exam(2 subject exam are conducted on the same day) is conducted after 2 months from the start of the semester and end term exam after 2 months of the mid term, with end term being fairly difficult.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students in 4th year (from 7th semester) are eligible for placements. College offers placements and a number of companies conduct recruitment activities in the university. From Accenture, rtcamp, SOTI to Capgemini, etc...multiple tech companies conducted online recruitment process. Highest being 7-8lpa as of now and lowest is 4lpa package (I'm in 7th sem) . The eligibility criteria is 6.5+ cgpa with no backlogs so 70 - 80 % of the students are eligible. A few will get placed successfully. College also offers foreign intership opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees is 2,25,000 per year for management seat and my batch mates fees is 1,45,000 for CET management seat. There are no other fees for lab or such. But for transportation I pay 49k per year, distance being 28kms. No financial aid and/or scholarships offered by the college management. The eligible students are told to apply for the SSP scholarship which pays a max of 18k. I applied, but did not receive the scholarship.

Campus Life

3

University conducts a Fest and ethnic day every year. And there are different Student run clubs like dance, music, nss, rotaract, litrature, fashion etc. The uni also has a good basketball, badminton, volleyball court and a cricket playground. There are inter college sports competitions aw well. There is a gym area and an indoor gaming area with games like chess, carrom and table tennis. There are 2 libraries one for engineering and another for management. There is a vast variety of study materials available along with other genre resources like fictional books and journals too.

Admission

I joined the first college I went to! I wasn't planning on pursuing engineering, and I actually went to Presidency University looking for a bba course. But there I was convinced to take up engineering by the marketing personnel as it was and is popular and in scope. So I joined there immediately because I was also at that time impressed by the college infrastructure and the placement offers AND it was a popular and slightly reputed university among my colleagues. So I did not apply to any other colleges or even try to. In the admission process I submitted all th original documents necessary and paid a partial sum of my fees and registered.

Faculty

3.5

There is 1:50 faculty-to-student ration in my section. And that's the max it goes. Most of the faculties are very educated and know what they are doing when it comes to teaching, if the students pay attention then learning will be easy...the faculties are approachable and try to solve any issues. But some professors are not keen on teaching well and they lack the ability to help students. There are 2 exams - Mid term (50 marks) and End term (100 marks) CA(continuous assessment) carries 50 marks which contains quizes, tests, seminars and lab record marks. Overall 200 marks is the total for a course.

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”
